Hey.My Derby dog swolle up like that, and I couldnt find any puncture hole either. The vet ended up pulling a two inch staub out of a tiny, tiny hole betwixed her toes .She was fine in 6 days.Cant tell ya'll how much Ive spent on vet bills from training in the spillway in 24 years.....its always something.

Thanks for asking, Jay.
The swelling has gone down a bunch, still a knot on her foot about the size of a grape, but the foot is otherwise normal size. The dog is feeling much better, no more fever, and walking normally, and wants to play. Antibiotics have given her the trots something fierce. She has a hole about as big around as a pencil eraser and about that deep between two toes where they cut out the abcess. It has quit bleeding but is not scabbing over yet. Always a battle to keep her from licking it, even with duct taped socks over her foot. No training until we get scabbed over.

Cha-ching . . . I guess I nailed that one!
And you can soak that foot in warm saltwater, and mash on the abcess. Maybe throw some betadine in somehow, I don't recall exactly.
