Window Tint
Re: Window Tint
Is anyone on here have anyway to write me one of those medical exemptions?
Deer, ducks, and turkeys.
Re: Window Tint
you would need a legitimate ocular condition to get that done. if you do, go visit your eye doc. i have never written one. the only people who have ever asked for it had no problem that a good pair of sunglasses wouldn't take care of. the patients who really do need it never ask.
imagine if a person had really dark, illegal tint and then had a car accident. in our society, unfortunately, the eye doc may be sued for that.
not too far fetched, really.

I have never done this myself, just have cop buddies that tell me it's the quickest way around it...

Wouldn't do any good. He has to measure all tint and write it down on the tint sticker. If you add tint to a vehicle it has to have a tint sticker with it!
Re: Window Tint
The Tint Law is the craziest thing I have ever heard.... I mean come on, for officer safety???? How many people can hand there drivers license to the officer threw closed window??? My point is your windows are down when the police officer comes up to your car anyway!!! Also he could get on his loud speaker and ask the person to roll down all the windows in his vehicle if he felt threatened, if the person does not cooperate, pull around to the front of the car and shine your spot light into the front windshield..
The tint laws are plain stupid!!! Its just an avenue for them to make more money, same thing with the seat belt laws!!!

Why is it such a big deal? I would think if it allows one officer to go home to his or her spouse and children it would be worth it. I think you need to ask yourself if its worth a human life to have dark windows on every ghetto sleigh in the state? Seat belt laws are stupid too? I have been to 3 funerals where seatbelts could have prevented their deaths...just another dumb money making law I guess

I have a tint sticker with a darker tint than the sticker says, the guys who do the inspection dont say anything about it.

My suggestion:
Move to a different state or quit running around with Fat Girls you don't want anyone to see....

My problem is we live in a free country (supposedly) and if I want tint on my windows (prevents cracking of my leather seats and keeps my truck cooler in the summer) I should be able too.... Officer safety as well as everyone else's safety is the most important thing for sure, but as I said, just ask them to roll their windows down and problem solved (thats a no brainer)... yea seat belts have be proven to save lives, but as an adult if I choose not to wear one I should have that right!!!

What happens when the officers orders are not obeyed and they will not roll down the windows? Are they supposed to extract someone without knowing who is in the car or how many subjects are present? Problem solved? I don't think so. You have a weak argument at best, just agree to disagree. It is crazy to think that simply rolling down the windows is a fix for having too dark of tint from an officer safety perspective. I am done with this argument, you guys never cease to amaze me. The bottom line is there are more important things in this world than protecting truck leather, IMO!
Re: Window Tint
I work at a tint shop. The only way around the law which states that any window that is not factory tinted must meeter 29% or higher is to get a medical excuse. Take it the your local tax accessors office and they will give you a permit that exempts you from the tint law.

I have my opinions you have yours, nothing too bad. I am just trying to play devils advocate on the subject so lets not get upset about anything!

Re: Window Tint
like I said in the previous post, if they do not obey your request, simply pull around to the front of the car and put your spot light in the car?? Just my thoughts!!!! Just tired of having restrictions on my life because of others stupidity!!!

Re: Window Tint
For the sake of argument, the car is parked in a parking lot where an officer cannot pull around? Then what? There is not an easy fix no matter how hard you try. I agree that I'm sick of restrictions placed on my life but this is one I don't really mind
