I have seen the belts slip on both the Kawasaki Prarie and the Yamaha.. That is why I went with a manual transmission when I bought mine in 2005.. After months and months of search for the best bang for the buck this is what I found..

Honda has the best Auto tranny, but lacks the features of other makes like the Polaris and Yamaha, unless your willing to shell out the bucks for the Rincon. Things like Independant Rear Suspension, True 4wd, and Ground clearance just are not there for the smaller Hondas..

Polaris and Yamaha have a lot of the features, but have the belt issue.

I went with an AC 400, because it had a manuall tranny with Hi/Lo, 12" ground clearance, oversized racks and floorboards, 2" reciever hitch, True 4wd, and disk brakes all the way around. Just had too many features to pass up.. The engine on my bike is a Suzuki engine and it came with a 2 year warranty. I will say this.. I don't like the new AC as much as my 05 model.. The racks are just not as sturdy looking.. But they are worth looking into.. My next choice would be a Suzuki or Yamaha..

Thanks for all the opinions guys...I decided to go with the Rincon...mainly for the simple reason I can get it worked on here in my own town plus a honda is all I have ever had...I might regret it in the long run but if I do...just don't say I told you so!! lol

I don't think you will be disappointed.. I just could come up with the 8-9k for that thing.. I got mine for 5500 OTD..

I personally have a 1983 Suzuki. It is ugly, no padding on the seat, has to be pull cranked every time, faded to almost a pink color from its original red, can not pull anything really heavy.....................but it sure ain't got any payments due!!!

91 honda 300

Carried me (200+) my brother(240) and a buddie(250) through he!! the last couple of seasons. Bought it in 91 and have driven the chit out of it. No brakes, choke, but it still cranks and gets me in/out when i need it to. Really need to step up, but i'm starting to think they need to get them a bike .

I have two Honda 300's '92 & '96 and they are still going.
I bought a 2006 Rincon and after adding new wheels, tires, aluminum skid plates and stick stoppers, baskets and storage box, winch, heave front bumper, I've got $10k in it. If I had to do it again, I would. You can't go wrong with the Honda engine.
Now with that said, I will give the down side if anyone is interested. If I was designing this bike I would add one more gear for more low in power. Now with the factory tires, it has plenty. I have 26" 589's on mine and in the mud, I have never had it bog down. But when you use it for something that it is not designed for and I do, it needs a little more ump. I was pulling a 14' four wheeler trailer across a rice field witth a duck blind on it and it gummed up and had a little trouble. I had one of the 300's with stock tires hook to me and we kept going. now this was gumbo and after enough rain that it got stickey. Now on the other hand, I hooked to the duck blind and pulled it across a rice field in two feet of water and never slowed down.
Like I said, it is a great machine if you use it for what it was designed for.
I have a buddy that has a Polock 700efi and when he puts in in low, it's like a tractor. BUT I would not trade him for it!

That was my issue with Honda.. They have built thier ATVs more for farm use than for hunting.. I wanted a Honda BAD.. But couldn't get over the lack of features on the bike.. The Rincon was the only option but at 9k it was too much for me to stomach.
