One day, if this girl ever grows up, she's gonna wish she'd never done such a foolish thing.

One thing that also bothers me about this is the news and sports shows giving her the 15 minutes of fame she needs to make a fool out of herself

She's a traitor.....treat her like one. Hang her for treason. If she turns her back on this country then we should turn our back on her.... as far as I'm concerned she no longer has rights in this country.

Liberals are going to ruin this country (if they havent already) and defending this dumbass they are only helping more in the collapse of our great country.

I dont know what these people are thinking but I say we get a couple of ocean liners and fill them up with the people that dont like this country and disperse them in every third world country on earth.

As far as this girl is concerned just slap turbin on her and call her Usama. Try her for treason along with all of these anti American hollywood buttholes!

God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!

hotty toddy, the public is going to let liberals ruin this country. The first thing that needs to be done is elect good, no nonsense public officials such as state and federal reps and senators that will not stand for the special interest groups.

I agree with all of yall, she is a traitor. Her excuse is she doesn't like what Bush is doing (she says pushing for a war). Well you know what, as a christian I didn't too much like the idea of our last president screwing around on his wife, or likewiese our last state govenor, but b/c of that I aint gonna disrepct my country or my state.

In my mind, she is just a spoiled little brat that cant get no date so she has got to get some attention somehow. She probablly is a dike.

I would never NEVER dis the flag period. We live in a land that offers freedom of choice freedom of speech and freedom of expression. If I had been in the stands I may have done the same thing as my Brother Vet...We all have the right to do what we think we should, do I agree with her stance Hell No do I support her sicking choice Hell Yes.. This is America and even with all the things going on here its the best damn place to be..Yet if she is a US citizen then she has the right to voice hers. Take the good and the bad boys cause its only in America that you can do this.

If she is going to protest, then she ought to make it better by shaving her head.

Seems like a lot of people these days want to get their "15 minutes of fame" at any cost. I'd sum it up this way...I'm thankful for this country, this freedom. I'm gonna be fairly quiet, and just be proud of it. As my 70 year old mother in law said last weekend...." Of all those boys who died in the wars, few had their turn in the limelight, they just died so we could be free". Well said....

"PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) -- A Vietnam veteran came onto the court Sunday and held an American flag in front of Manhattanville senior forward Toni Smith after the Division III player again refused to face the flag during the national anthem."

"She disgraced herself and she disgraced the flag," said Jerry Kiley, 56, of Rockland County, N.Y., who was ejected from the arena after he walked onto the court during the first break in play."

fella's...here's my 28 dollars and 2 cents to the coach of that school: I emailed this to him..THANKS Sportsman450 for the link!!

Sir...I am writing you in disgust about Toni Smith! Her disrespectful actions towards the American Flag and National Anthem reflect great discredit on herself and that of your school. I can't come to terms of addressing you as "Coach"...seeing that a Coach is one who is not merely employed with a school or college...but one that actually teaches and instills moral character within his or her students, a mentor if you will. One that stands behind the purpose of the American Flag, the National Anthem, and those who have lost their lives and loved one's serving for this great country. I am concerned that you sir may not value the freedom for which I serve in the US Navy. You stand in public and allow this snot nosed kid to disrespect the flag for the greatest nation in the world! As you continue to allow this behavior you have slapped every soldier in the face. I would challenge you to possibly ask some of your older generation within your family or even close friends that haved served in WWII, Vietnam etc, what they think of this and are they proud of you for standing behind Toni Smith? I would venture to say no! You sir make me ill and fighting mad. I would rather see some Iraqi burn my flag in their streets than to see a so called American, turn 90 degrees and not give the due respect the American flag shall be rendered! I sir question your integrity. How dare you stand beside one of your players when in fact she is not behind your country! Have you ever served in any of the US Armed Forces? I recently transferred from the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT CVN-71, for which I deployed on 19 Sept 2001 in direct support OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, and OPERATION ANACONDA. You sir have no earthly idea what the 7,000 people on board and their families went through to deploy into harm's way! I don't have the time to explain nor will I entertain your thoughts on this matter as you probably don't care. I will leave you with a quote from Theodore Roosevelt: Please take this to heart and reevaluate your actions with Toni Smith.

Michael Baker

Character is far more important than intellect in making a man a good citizen or successful at his calling- meaning by character not only such qualities as honesty and truthfulness but courage, perseverance and self-reliance.....
