I have used acorn rage before also and the deer never touched it. I think it has alot to do what the location is and the type of available natural food. Got a buddy that puts out hundreds of punds of taters 20 miles from my land and the deer seem to be addicted to them. They will not touch a tater at my place. Weird how deer want eat some free grub

Not illegal to sell, just illegal to put out.

If it's not pellets in a covered feeder this time of year, it's illegal to put out.

Here are the regs: http://home.mdwfp.com/PDF/Wildlife/Noti ... eeding.pdf

I take it you haven't read the link. I was speaking of "food" products.

mix it with your corn or deer pellets in a spin type feeder. i dont know if this legal or not, if you are following the guidelines on deer feeders it should be. maybe wingman can shed some light on this.

Well...I hate to sound like a broken record here, but I think it is safe to say there are a bunch of opinions out there from folks who haven't read the regulations.

Before the new legislation, it was legal to put it out, but illegal to hunt over it. Now, it is still illegal to hunt over bait, and it is illegal to put out anything that isn't "approved" by the legislation.

I absolutely love how the MDWFP put this thing together (and I mean that!). They kept it illegal to bait, and they put pretty stringent rules in place for "supplemental feeding" in the process.

Yep. Pretty much, the pro-bait crowd gained ground in the fact that they got a defined distance they can be from bait and be legal, but in turn, got dealt the card of only being able to put out a particular type of bait and in a particular fashion.
