For those who are coming Friday night (for whatever reason), we can open the club. There are matresses that can be put on the floor but you'll need to bring sheets, bedroll, whatever. There isn't a shower, so be sure you're clean when you get here....Hehehe.

We will open the club sometime Friday afternoon (to be determined) and get things set-up for the shooting on Saturday. Once the work is done, we may test our skills on the 5-stand.

The vertical oscilator motor on the wobble trap crashed and burned at the last shoot.......but we can crank the spring up and throw some 80+ yard targets and shoot it from the skeet stations. Trap doubles can be shot on a different field, as can singles and skeet. The main event will be the food and fellowship. I'm looking forward to getting to know some folks better.

Basically, each person is responsible for their own food, drink, shells, etc. You make a mess, you clean it up.......nobody is going to be yo Momma and pick-up after you.

Don't forget......if you have duck hunting related items that you'd like to sell (calls, decoys, boats, robo ducks, etc.) we'll set-up a trading table for display of those items. I'm planning on bringing some G&H 'speck' shells and some Herter's mallard deeks.

We have a grill for the hog......we need one for steaks, burgers, sausage, grilled duck breasts, bread....etc.

As stated previously, we will collect $5/person (children are free) to cover cost of paper goods, etc. Depending upon how many folks shoot, we may do it like the last time, allowing each person to keep-up with how many rounds you shoot and pay $5/round when you're finished (honor system). If you have a child (under 18), they may shoot for $2.50/round, but must be accompanied by their parent/sponsor and/or responsible shooter.

We just want to insure that shooting is done in a safe manner, adhereing to the posted club rules regarding shooting. The biggest safety rule (that might be new to those who don't frequent gun clubs or shooting events), is that guns shall remain unloaded with the action open at all times until it's your turn to fire on the shooting line. This means when you're walking around with your gun, leave the bolt open (pumps and automatics) or the breech open (O/U's, SxS's, and single barrels).....this let's everyone else see that your gun is unloaded and that you are a safe shooter. Guns shall be carried such that their muzzle is always pointed toward the ground, never pointing at any person.

I anticipate around 30-40 folks. It should be a blast and there should be some great food. We'll leave the club open Saturday night, also......for those wishing to spend the night and drive home on Sunday. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at....theanatidae@yahoo.com

Duckhuntalot, GH22 mentioned to me that your were going to bring a wild pig to cook. I'm sure we don't need two hogs grillin for the event. If you are going to cook one, let me know so that I won't go kill one and us have a lot of meat go to waste.

I went to the club, today. 'Shot week 3 of the 5-stand league.......I'd hate to see week 4 (actually, I got a glimpse of it........Oh, MY!) If things get too intimidating......we'll go back to week 1's layout!!! :?

Hey........the club President allowed me to adjust the price of targets for this shoot to $4/ round ($2 for children)....wasn't that nice?

Ya'll bring plenty o' shells......I'm still working on the 'flush'/'flurry' thingy. But believe me, the 5-stand COOKS!! With the wind behind High 2, it's pretty tough to hit. Hey......who said those were IC targets? I shot modified on the #6/#4 following pair and needed every bit of it! 'Thinking 'bout going to IM........'gotta be 'right' on the close shots, though.........you'll know it when you hit one! Pure SOOT, Baby!!
