I am pretty serious about playing. I picked it up about 5 months ago just to have something to do, and now I find myself on every internet site looking for tips, and playing what used to be 15-30 minutes a day has now turned into 1-2 hours a night. Right now I am kinda of stuck at a point where I can figure out the easy stuff but the more intermediate things I am having problems with. I am going to go with a fender amp one of there smaller ones, I think. I can get it for around 80 bucks the one I was looking at was 225 but on the fender website it list for 525. I just want something to plug up to don't know why just do. Its kinda like duck calls. Everybody has a bunch that they like but you always want another one.

If any of you have a chance here is the one I was thinking about getting. It’s the one that was recommended.

I've been trying to teach myself for years. I'm a terrible teacher and a worse student!

Take lessons!

some really good advise so far. if you are just playing acoustic, no amp necessary. keep working on that. once your ready, find a inexpensive strat in a pawn shop to get started. i saw 2 in a pawn shop for 80 bucks the other day. but, make sure you get a amp with a headphone output. it helps a lot when you can jam out and not disturb the neighborhood. stay with it.

I'm an amp head. I've got about thirty old (1955 to 1968) Fender tube amps… tweeds, blackfaces, silverfaces, browns; you name it I’ve got it.

If you worried about your neighbors I would recommend a Blackface or Silveface Fender Champ. You can pick one up for $300 or so on eBay.

You just can't beat an old tube amp.
