My Dad (75) is dealing with one right now, the size of a golf ball  . Had it shattered last Fri., passed some of it early in the week. He said it's no fun.

Everyone make stones for different reasons. No matter the cause hydration is the best preveative (water and lots of it).

Anyone who makes stones on a regular basis, needs a nephorolgist. A kidney disease doctor. Mine changed my life. Uroligists are surgeons... they pratice medicine as a convience to their patients only. Anyone with frequent stones needs more help than a surgeon can provide.

Big boy I had last year was 15 x 22 mm. If you look at the defintion of the phrase 'no fun', it shows a 15 mm stone! hehe. travis

right on the money, I am 38 and have had at least a dozen stones in my life, 3 lithotripseys (sp) and one extraction the painfull way on christmas eve, everyone makes stones for different reasons not just to much coffee, cokes, dr peppers etc...

Had my first one about 3 months ago at the age of 42. Thought I was dyeing! Almost wanted to! Doc told me to quit drinking tea. I love sweet tea and miss it but nothing is worth kidney stones.

I have had dozens of the evil little pain machines. Torodol is your friend, and drink as much water every day as you can stand.
