He does it in the office. It is an outpatient procedure.

The Doc will provide you with a pill to take prior to the deal - something to ease the pain and anxiety.

I told my wife I would do it myself out in the shed with a rusty hacksaw blade before I risked having the third girl

There is also a Dr John Adams in Jackson. Good friend of mine, and it's a group of duck hunters as well. Ms Urology Assoc. I have duck hunted with a couple of them, and have known the other two all of my life. It sounds like you have found a good doctor. It will hurt for a week or so, but I was at work on day 3. Not running around, but I was at work.

OK update time...had the 'procedure" done last friday. Dr Miles is a good guy. Explained everything he was going to do then again before each step he repeated what was about to happen. The actual vascetomy only took about 20 minutes. He didn't give me anything for pain when I left only said take extra strength tylonol or motrin if i needed too. Very little swelling, and no pain other than the "kicked in the groin feeling" most of the day saturday. By Sunday i couldn't tell anything had been done. However monday i started feeling a strange pulling on my right side but its up in the area where my leg connects to the upper body. Today it has gotten worse. i go back for a follow up with Dr miles tommorow so i will fill him in on it. Other than that though if your in the delta area and are considering this i'd recommend him. He is a straight shooter and understands the anxiety and nervousness about it. Also it was just him in the room where he did it. He did have a nurse stationed right outside and he did call her in twice but as soon as she took care of whatever it was he needed she stepped back out. So it wasn't like there was a whole bunch of people seeing you sprawled out in all your glory. Very discreet.
