Sounds like the best kind of therapy a man can get. Good luck to you.

I admire your will and positive attitude. I'm also glad that you have the support of friends like the guy that sticks by you and helps you make adjustments so you can continue hunting. Everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like that.
Things happen for a reason and I trust your positive attitude will have a positive impact on others around you. Keep it up. I can only imagine the courage and conviction it takes to move forward.
Good Hunting!

Re: Saturday is the day
I'm glad to hear your heading back so soon. I heard about your accident on Winona Talk and I knew you were probably just as concerned about the timing of the accident as anything. Look at the bright side, at least you can spend all winter duck hunting and not have to worry about any roads. I hope your mom is doing better also, if y'all didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any at all. Hopefully this duck season you'll be able to reverse the run of bad luck.

Lodi, I love your heart, man! Keep that positive outlook. My sister's husband lost his lower left leg in a farming (combine) accident. He got his prosthetic and got on with it just like you. He still farms over a thousand acres, was a state representative for 15+ years, and has been a wonderful husband and father...and a dang good b-in-law! He's treatening to water ski this summer (in his 60's)...he was very good at it in his younger years.
All that just to let you know how far a good attitude and good work ethic will get you. I hope to meet you one day and shake your hand.

Re: Saturday is the day
Sorry to hear bout the leg, but great attitude, reminds me of an ole man that coon hunted on our place, he lost his lower right leg due to diabetes, he kept coon hunting, the next summer they had to take the other, he kept coon hunting, i asked him one day how hard it was for him, he just smiled and said ain't half as hard as staying home with that mean ole Bi^#$ of a wife. all that to say he not only lost both legs, but kept a great attitude and sense of humor. if you need somewhere to go, you welcome to get in my boat anytime, i just up the road from ya

I am out at work till the 11th. of jan. but I'll bet one of my fellow Black Democrats would take you out on a drive up, unload gear, and shoot some fliers type hunt! May not see a Greenhead but if Bigwater is out there or involved, you will laugh your butt off! Y'all fellow BDDC members do this for this young man!

I hunt with a man who lost his leg in a construction accident up to his butt. It hasn't stopped him. My boy's and I just drag his boat with us as we wade and keep on huntin. We use 4 wheelers and etc... and still kill ducks. So don't let it slow you down my friend didn't. I know you have some friends that will assist you in anyway they can. That is what duck huntin buddies are for. Good luck on your hunts and may God Bless ya.
