Quite a 2 can a day Skoal and Cope habit on Christmas Eve 1994. Congrats those that have quit and keep it up to those that are trying.

june 3, 2004 was my last dip. I will chew on a cigar every once in a while, but no dipping. I had dipped copenhagen for 16 yrs or so.
I miss it and I think I could eat a can right now. I quit because I did not want my little girl to have to be embarrassed that her dad had rotted teeth or half a face.
It is ashamed that something that good can be so bad for you.

well the way i look at it is this, if you quit that is great, if you still do whatever it is you do thats great too. in my opinion life is to short to not do and enjoy what you want. (as long as it is morally and ethical and all that jazz) you know what i mean. anyway i know way to many folks that die from lung cancer and never touched any tobaccy, and there are folks that do tobaccy on the reg. and live a long and healthy life. to each his own.....i know some will dissagree, but thats what makes the world go round.

About 15 for me.. Used it for about 2 weeks in college and went out to go hunting with my dad.. He saw that I had it in my mouth and about slapped it out of me... Never touched the stuff again.

Well I said I was going to quit when skoal hit .30 cents a can! Now you youngsters figure out when that was! When I started Skoal and Copenhagen was only .19 cents a can! You had 3 choices of snuff. Garrets Skoal fine cut wintergreen and Copenhagen.

Before 1976 but not exactly sure.
It's been since 1976 for me. It was 33 cents for cop., skoal, or happy days. Been tryin to quit every since- i know i am a big ol wussy with 0 will power. Quit for about a year back in 2006 and picked it back up during hunting season.

that's what i tell my wife from time to time...."i could put a whole can in my top and bottom lip, and even if i threw up from the buzz, i'd still be happy as a lark!"
been lil over 2 years - new year day, with a month left to sit in the duck blind...with no dip - we made a bet (that i won and still haven't seen any $ from). started chewing gum - after i re-learned how to chew gum and not my jaw - and haven't had a dip since.
i had a friend who worked for us tobacco, so i got samples of cope...fresh cope...every month and rarely had to buy it. i was a 2 can a day kinda guy as well, especially at work in front of a computer all day.

been dipping timberwolf for about 8 years and switched to redman for the last two years, tried to quit two or three times and really hasn't worked. I used the chantix once and quit for about a month. Got my tonsols taken out and quit for about a month after that. Started back and can't stop. Not enough will power and want to.

It has been a little over two years cold turkey. My daughter is 3 now, I quit the first time she picked up the spit bottle. Children are a GREAT motivator. Still like a little piece of Lancaster in the blind, that is until the little one gets to go hunting.
