I think we bought one of every bottle known to man with my first born. We finally settled on the ol cheap gerber bottle. i would have to take a fork of small knife and open the hole up just a tad. Once he got bigger and could take cereal we went back to the avent and modified the hole as more cereal was added. good luck and as everybody told us, it will get better, hang in there.

we tried all that expensive crap an none of it seemed to work or prevent colic any better. They are also a pain in the butt to clean, so we ended up going old school with glass bottles and used higher level nipples.

+1 on what mudhog said I got my pharmacist to compound up some of the good stuff. Muhog ask your pharmacist to mix you up some teething fixer upper too

he already does and we got some at the house.

her doc told us infant motrin though. motrin lasts for 6 hours, where the teeting stuff only lasts a few seconds.

If your feeding cereal in the milk, then use one number higher. When my daughter was on #1, we fed #2 with cereal and #1 without cereal. Shes now 7.5 months and we starting to use the #4 with cereal.

i use the avents, first try using a #2 nipple, if that doesn't work, a safty pin is the right size to open the hole. as far as the venting, turn it till you just feel the rubber grab, any further and it will not vent as you know, and i hate the dang rings they added to the new bottles seems to make the leaks worse. hope yours aren't collicy, i got one that is three weeks old, and last night was the first time i got more than 3 hrs sleep since we came home from the hospital. sleep deprivation is a biitch, hope i got another good night tonight cuz if i do i am ready to go try to ruin another turkeys day

good luck to ya man, prayers with ya

Thanks for the response guys, now can youll help me find a new job making 6 figures  . Anyway we had a little better night, adjusted the nipples and did a little better. our biggest problem is dealing with the constipation x2. So, this morning wife called our ped. and they are going in to see her after lunch to check weights etc...maybe we can get them on a formula that is better on there stomachs. Thanks again for all the advice and keep it coming!!!. Sometimes this site gets bogged down in a lot of BS but for the most part when a member really needs something evryone comes through and the true nature of like-minded people shine through. See if they will let y'all use cairo syrup or either gerber apple prune juice... It's been a while and I can't remember the ratio to mix in with the formula but that stuff got it done.

Mix cereal with the milk for consipation. Been giving my daughter cereal since she was 3 weeks old. The cereal helps absorb moisture from the colon and loosen the stool. We tried the cairo, but worst thing about that is the sweetness of it. It's hard to ween off the bottle after having the sweetness for so long. Its like letting a baby suck on their thumb. Unles syou cut their thumb off, it's hard to ween them off sucking their thumbs. A noonie can be taken away. :)

On Edit, we had to switch to the Isomil which is a Soy Based formula. That helped greatly with the fussiness.

That fits more to some recent events.

Something my daughters doc said about the juices, was to not give them juice as the acid breaks down in the jums and turns into bacteria. This can inturn lead to cavities. Learned this for my daughters 6 month doc check up.

We have been using the Avent bottles for three months now with absolutely no problems. They have never gotten stopped up and they have never leaked. They also are about 20 times easier to clean than the Dr. Brown's bottles. I would stick with them. Not sure if you have one or not but ours came with a microwave steamer. Just put the bottles, nipples and tops in this thing, add water and nuke. They come out sterilized and you don't have to boil water or any of that crap.
