Speck calls are all about back pressure, something impossible to properly achieve wearing gloves. Haydel's "Compensator Speck Call" lives up to it's name as it comes with an adjustable rubber tip that provides built-in back pressure that works even with gloves. When the compensator tip isn't necessary, it can be taken off for regular use. This call is also an effective alternative for use in layout blinds where body position, spacial confines, and rolling around on your back can affect calling technique.

That is something most people are unaware of. I looked at my call last night, but I've had it for so long, there's no label or writing left on it. All I can tell you is it's built like a bigger version of their duck calls and it's black.

A lot of people overcall Specks. They aren't Canadas! We just talk back and forth to them and answer when they do. If they answer the first call you make there is a good chance they will usually work. Small groups are the norm which makes them more suceptable to calling. We have several pits that are death holes to them. You don't need all that many decoys either. About a dozen per pit works for us.

When I bought my Chein Caille a few years ago they made 3 versions, beginner, intermediate and finished. I don't know if they still make 3 versions or not ( they were not nearly as popular then as now ). I bought mine strait from the old man and still use it. I also use an Echo and sometimes a Hadel..
