No steel through a Belgian barrel. They're thinner and softer, and it's just a crap shoot as to when you'll get a bulge--but it's highly likely, especially with a full choke and large shot.

For anyone interested--I have a 3" magnum japanese 30" vent-rib fixed-full barrel lying around that I'd part with. It has some battle-scars and is missing the front bead, easy fix. My buddy shot steel #2's thru it for years with no issues. It would be a good candidate to be shortened down and threaded for choke tubes, or take your chances and use as-is. $150

According to Browning, shooting steel shot in a Belgium made barrel is not recommended. However I understand it's ok to shoot Bismuth or classic double in the Belgium barrel. I'd rather not risk damaging my Belgium barrel, but I would consider shooting Bismuth (in a very limited quantity) just to be able to shoot a few ducks with my A5. It is a fine shotgun and I'd like to be able to use it a little. I thought it would be nice to have an extra barrel I could put on it to hunt waterfowl. However, I sure don't want to pay $700 plus for one!

If you lived closer to me, I would let you borrow my Japan Invector Barrell. Patterns steel like a dream
