I guess we'll see if the new camphouse at Ashland is high enough!! At least it'll be a fun boat ride back there. 8)

Yeah, it sounds like yall are in for another long highwater summer. Wish i could be there to run some lines in the backwater, last few years of highwater we did pretty good in the backwater around Vicksburg, If it gets as high as it says, you will have to put in off the side of le turno rd. aint nothin else to do but fish. Yall put some pictures of fresh caught catfish so we can see what they look like over here.

I guess it's safe to say that no one will be playing River Bend Links anytime soon then.

Not gonna make it. they were anchoring her down today and if it hits 58 it's going over porch and 60 it's sitting on the couch.

They are planning on shutting down the isle of debris and closing silver street for awhile.

one camp by the homochitto is preparing for water in the attic of their two story camp on stilts :(

The May 18th crest in Vicksburg is 53.5 feet, almost 2 feet above the 51.6 feet crest in 1973; it crested at 56.2 feet in 1927.

It looks like this one will go down as at least the second highest level in Vicksburg in recorded history; and it’s mighty early in the year.

Historical Crests for Mississippi River at Vicksburg

(1) 56.20 ft on 05/04/1927
(2) 53.20 ft on 02/21/1937
(3) 52.80 ft on 06/06/1929
(4) 52.50 ft on 04/28/1922
(5) 51.60 ft on 05/13/1973
(6) 51.50 ft on 02/15/1916
(7) 51.00 ft on 04/20/2008

We hunt on the tunica cutoff and are moving everything we can to higher ground on the Club we hunt on. Even taking stuff out of our cabin it is 8 feet off the ground but they are saying it might get in it and we just built it 3 years ago hope it does not make it in the place

We had three feet in 08 I believe when it hit 58 in natchez so it will be real close to our camp that is 20 feet off the ground.

I hate to hear about folks camps and houses getting wet. The older camps I may can understand a littel bit more, but the new camps that are recently built. Why would you not build it at an elevation so you know the river won't get it, you already are building it in the air, so why not go up another 3-6 feet or something, why would you leave it at en elevation at such so you know the river has, and will again get to that level. Why not go to an elevation where you know, or at least are pretty confident, that the river will not reach?
Just wondering?
