For some reason that link is taking everyone to the Board of Supervisors meeting now. Just click on "Archives" and then select the City Council meeting from August 8th, 2011.
I cannot believe those commissioners act like that and get away with it. Is the newspaper scared to call them out on it? I'm glad Curtis Boschert (the city attorney)stood his ground, but the will probably getted canned if either of the white commissioners lose their next election. I hate it for him. He is a good city attorney, but for some reason the elected black officials in the Delta don't seem to care about qualifications when it comes to hiring people.
Bolivar County probably had the most qualified County Board Attorney in the State. Possibly one of the best in the country, but they canned him as soon as the blacks got the majority on the board. The attorney they fired is now the head of the local government section of the American Bar Association for the entire country. The county was using him as a consultant every time anything complicated came up, but I think he finally told them that they were on their own.
