The top two candidates for SEC coach of the year appear to be Mullins and Chzik. Who gonna win this one?

MSU actually plays no part in the pursuit of this case. They did just as they were suppose to and reported this to the front office. As to pushing the suit they don't have the power to push anything this is all in the NCAA and the SEC's hands, all state does now is answer questions and junk. He has reportedly already broken one rule by his mangy miscreint pappy soliciting money for Cam Coon to sign the dotted line. I imagine there will be more come of this, just think it is sad for the athlete and his team mates if he really didn't know but he will still be a bust in the NFL.

The father's church was facing several code violations that were going to cost a lot of money. Soon after Cam signed ALL repairs were made. Subpoena the contractors and subs and find out how they were paid. If they got paid in cash there is your money trail.

It is now being speculated (I have not read all eleven pages of this thread...this may be old news) that the reason the FBI is involved is due to wire taps over illegal activity of what happen to be Auburn Boosters. The FBI was investigating them on something completely different and then discovered the payment for Cam Newton in the process.

If you understand how the FBI works, this makes perfect sense.

I still think that Auburn is going to get in MAJOR trouble over this. Of course, there are other rumors that do not bear repeating until further evidence comes to light, but let's just say that it does not appear Cam Newton is the only one involved in receiving money on Auburn's team.

Here is a great article on why Cam Newton will be eventually ruled ineligible, either very soon or two years down the road.

http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2010/1 ... neligible/

Basically, no matter what happens, whether Auburn paid for him or not, the fact that he or his family asked State for cash makes Cam ineligible to play for anyone. Therefore, all wins in which he participated will eventually be vacated. If Auburn did pay for him, not only will the wins be vacated, they will face very bad probation.

Look at the date on the article.....isn't that right before all the Newton stuff blew up? This is purely hypothetical but what if this is why the FBI had some taps on that could've caught the Cam Newton thing? Wonder if the FBI took it to the NCAA and they are trying to make State look like the taddle so we don't find out the Feds are getting involved with recruiting violations. Could explain why the NCAA is being so slow and continuing to allow him to play so that whoever the Feds are still taping doesn't get cold feet and stop blabbing info about any other indictments with the lobbying firms.

I know this is a stretch, but a dirty lobbying firm could have their hands in so many dirty pots that the Feds could have ordered the NCAA to go along with whatever needs going along with to catch folks of much more importance than Cam and Rev Cecil. Pure speculation, well more like guessing and story making, but would be a football scandal of epic scale.

That is actually a pretty good thought.

I know that you guys don't want to read a 30 page thread on tigerdroppings (neither do I), so just read the first three or four and maybe the last two or three when you get a chance of the below linked thread. This is going to turn into a best selling book one day if even half of the speculation is true.

Hint: This thread has been cited as a source by a news outlet if that give you any hint as to what it contains.

Since everyone is posting articles, here is an interesting one none of you conspiracy theorists will want to read.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5165 ... tion-clear

As for Bob Geddie, Paul Davis' article doesn't say anything everyone didn't already know. Fine & Geddie has been Auburn's lobbying firm for years. They get paid very well to lobby on behalf of the University. They played a pivotal role in the battle over K-12 v. Higher Ed funding on the last day of the legislative session two years ago. They swing a big stick and that should come as a surprise to no one familiar with the way things work in Montgomery. To assert that this is somehow related to the Newton allegations is absurd, but I would expect nothing less from the resident Bama MSDucks investigative reporter.

By the way, I know several of the folks indicted over the gambling issues personally and while I think several of them have significant problems, I don't think Bob Geddie is among them. Brush up on the Alabama ethics laws and specifically the 120 day loop hole and then we'll see if there will be any problem regarding their contributions to Senator Ross.

I told a coworker today, that I wouldn't be surprised to see a movie made of all of this. The storyline is writing itself.
