Everybody that knew anything knew that was gonna happen, but you can't not take their signature...recruiting class is still very good without them, woulda been unheard of in college baseball with all three of them...

It wasn't a power hitter at the plate, it wasn't someone swinging a hot bat, it wasn't a deep ball pop up hitter, or someone that rarely hits into double plays. Second pitch, double play. You HAVE to bunt him over. Period.
I am not blaming L on Mikey bc obviously the rebs had NO PITCHING left, ran itself outta several big innings that it needed but his "timing" seems to always be a little off. An enigma I tell ya.

Ole Miss wasn't even close to out of pitching, but they were out of pitching that could compete at that level...which is Mike's fault...recruiting and management of the roster and development is head coaches responsibility...What I don't think is his fault is when players do not step up and perform to the level that is expected of them at that level, and when they are put in a position to succeed, given everything possible to do so and they swing at a 2-0 pitch in their eyes with base loaded and pitcher walked last guy and is not throwing strikes in a one run game (Bousfield), or you swing at first pitch a sinker baller throws you in the bottom of the 9th with runners at the corners on and the cusp of a rally (Yarbrough), or you have 2-3 quality at bats out of 13-15 opportunities in regional play (2/3rds of Ole Miss hitters)...you get my point...sorry, It might be cliche but it's reality, Bianco's players have let him down many many many times in his Ole Miss tenure...

Who would Ole Miss hire if they fired Bianco? I think he is an outstanding baseball coach. Ole Miss has been a doormat in baseball since the 1970s until Bianco came on the scene. They had some of the worst fan attendance in the SEC up until Bianco. I remember going to an Ole Miss game in the mid 1990s that literally shocked me in how poorly the fans supported the team. I had been to church league softball tournaments with more people in attendance it seemed.

Ole Miss arguably has the best overall game day atmosphere in the nation for an SEC weekend now. They are in the regionals yearly. They have been to the supers and were eliminated by eventual national champs in three games.

Baseball hires are a lot more tenuous than football. There is a large chance of picking the wrong guy. George Horton ain't leaving the west coast either.

I wonder if they would give Kennison from Delta State a look? The guy has proven to be a winner on the D2 level.

It goes both ways. Players did not help with some of their play as mentioned above. Bianco should have pulled his pitcher and for sure laid the bunt down after the error. The 2-0 pitch that was swung on....why did the batter not get the take sign from the dugout??? Was it given? Did Bianco think the guy was surely taking on his on? Good pitch or bad pitch did not matter right there, should of been taking. UM's weakness of pitching showed up just like MSU's weakness of offense showed up. That is what is great about double elimination, multiple chance sport of baseball. Usually the team that supposed to win will eventualy win. MSU had a bad match-up with Samford. Honestly UM was not built to go through a long tourny....super regional yes but anything longer than 3 games no.

Do WHAT????? hahah not out of pitching but out of pitching that can pitch in a regional? huh?? u was out of pitching.... i saw Wahl was in trouble in the first inning. pitches was flat.. Bainco was an idiot not to have someone with a fresh arm ready for the first sign of trouble

all this u just posted about it not being the coaches fault it is absolutely his fault. The players bring the talent, it is his job to get them ready for those situations. You coach to take on 2-0 counts when u need runners... or put the take sign on when u need runners.... I know u aint farking on Yarbrough the most talented hitter in baseball, not college baseball but when he gets to the pros.

Basbeall games are the in thing to do know in oxford. Why? cause everybody thinks its the thing to do, not because they love the game of baseball. Can't argue with that, agreed. Batter hitting .188 who can't get a bunt down to save his life, Runner getting picked off at third to kill a big inning...

But, part of being a great coach is knowing the players physical skill-sets as well as mental make up and placing them in situations that create higher probability for successful outcomes.

That's why I said an enigma...b/c the results during his tenure just aren't as good as they should be... whether its "timing" of decisions by coach, poor performance by players, poor roster managment....there is some bad ju-ju that his teams just can't get through to take the next step.

I fully agree with DUCK-HUNT that Omaha and doubt play a huge role in the lack of UM taking the next step, have mentioned that doubt several times on this board and always brings on the defensive side of most UM fans

OH, and you saw Wahl in trouble in the first inning as he struck out 5 of the first 9 batters he faced and gave up one hit on an 0-2 punchin' judy single until the 4th, faced one more than the minimum the first 3 innings???? Let me bail you out...you saw he was laboring when the guy hit a 93 MPH fastball out in the 4th, cause that was an easy obvious time to recognize such a thing huh??? It's hard for me to really take any other thing you said very seriously after really that first sentence...

Wahl was in trouble before he ever took the mound in the first inning, basically pitching on one day's rest after throwing a good many pitches in the bullpen during sunday's game. And then bring Mayer's back after Sat's game .........knew he would get jacked up quick.

posted this in the first inning so yeah i saw it early and new it was a matter of time.... even stated tired arms usually throw good breaking pitches for now, and they was jumping all over his fast ball but nothing was falling. I wasnt the only one to notice it.

Then if the Mississippi fans are happy with Bianco, I suggest you sign him to a long term contract to keep the "best" atmosphere in college baseball in Oxford. i can tell you that most State fans would LOVE to see Mississippi sign Bianco to a long temr contract......

But write this down.....the new AD at Mississppi is getting his feet wet.....but let Bianco have another year like this year and he will be gone. With the "greatest atmoshphere in college baseball" you should be able to recruit the best and win with the best....best thing that ever happened with Mississippi was when they hired the new AD and broke up the cluster f$%k that was the current athletic administration. That being said........I do have to say that the jury is still out as to whether Bjork has any balls......because if he did, he would have already told Pete Boone to go to the house "I have it now, I will call you if I need you"
