It's not all deep track classic rock or jam music. Its like the original tunes till two with deep track soul, r&b, and blues thrown in for good measure. Nothing that I've heard so far has made me want to change channels.
I sure hope this is the wave of the future for public radio?
There is an article about this in the Jackson Free Press. I saw it while waiting in the lunch line yesterday. Something about the station is owned by a Memphis based company and they currently don't have it leased to anyone. So the local contract engineer is streaming out his own tunes...or something along these lines...

Shame it's not going to last. Not much variety in the Jackson Market. The only rock station plays the same 20 songs all day every day. Gotta love Clear Channel.

I'm going to milk this little treasure as long as it lasts. I've been listening to station every time I'm in my vehicle while with in the coverage area. I have not yet heard a song repeat.
Whenever I've landed on z-106 in the past, it's always the same danged song.
This is better than satellite in my view. I guess because it has a southern flair?

Does anybody know how to get their hands on the set list that they've been playing?
There's music I've never heard before and love it.

Based on the JFP article, probably not. They had a hard time even finding out why the station was being run like it was. Nobody wanted to answer questions. If somebody had some cash they could run that w/ their playlist and no DJs. Commercials would be a necessity but I bet you could get advertisers if people are lining up to listen to the station.

I would love for someone to hack into the system and scan the drive they're streaming from.
Just a thought?

I heard a jack fm commercial on the radio this morning. I actually think I heard them pull the plug on the previous format last night.
It quit playing right in the middle of an eagle song. I then heard the geiko gecko in mid commercial which made me wanna blow my brains out.
I switched it to supertalk jackson which had the same commercial playing, which made me realize I was hearing 100.9 from starkville.
Why couldn't I have discovered this back when this topic first came up? I could have had several more weeks of musical bliss.

I've got sound hound and shazam on my phone. I've got quite a set list built up on my phone. I heard more music that I had not heard before that I actually liked on that radio station than I ever did on any satellite channel.
There were many instances where both were stumped.

I'm not real familiar with WUSM (I knew enough to guess it was the campus radio station at USM) but I saw this pop up on facebook and I thought you guys would find it interesting:

Here is their website:

And their facebook page:

I listen to a fair bit of internet "radio" and have enjoyed
www.wjdx102.9.com for a while. Not a lot of new music on the station, however.

For those of y'all that remember the original Tunes til Two, David Adcock's son Sam does a tribute show every Sunday:
