So what will the spread be? I honestly feel like it will open above 18.5 I will be shocked if it doesn't.

Ole miss has basically done what state did last year. Not played anybody and are undefeated and state was a -24 last year. I feel even 18 may be generous but I am excited to see what Vegas thinks of the game.

beating Vandy at Vandy and Texas at Texas ...i would not compare = to State's last year first three games Jackson State at State, Troy st. and terrible Auburn.
I think Bama should and will beat Ole Miss.....Bama's 12man ( referees) is unbeatable

I love how fans always want to make excuses on why they can't beat a better team. If you watched the Bama/AM game there is no way you would say the refs were the 12th man for Bama.

Mshunter ...if you knew any recent Bama / Ole mis history you would understand my lighthearted jab. No excuses from me..Alabama should win.

e
Had the same conversation with a State buddy today-----he said OM hasn't played anybody---this OM team is just like State's team last year--OM will lose their next 4 games-blah, blah, blah......and I've heard basically the same thing from every other friend of mine that's a State fan....and I tell them exactly what you said....comparing State's first 3 games last year to OM first 3 this year is a joke.....Vandy will end up in a bowl this year and Texas could get their crap together and win 10 games for all we know, they have the players.....but they could lose 10, who knows....
State beat a 1AA team and so did OM so that's a wash but Auburn was terrible last and went 0-8 in conference----and Troy was 5-7 team that State almost lost to----Beating Vandy and Texas on the road is just a little better than beating those two teams.....

I think Ole Miss wins 9 games this year (and I made that prediction before the season started), but they are not on the level of Alabama. That is not a bad thing because it is likely that no one is on Bama's level. Moreover, Saban's entire "process" is geared around consistency and not looking ahead or behind. As such, Bama will not take Ole Miss lightly...they don't take anyone lightly.

I agree with that for sure-----that's why he's the best there is----if you're gonna beat Bama, you have to beat em cause they won't beat themselves.

not to get in a pissing match, but to say that this year is the same as last year for state is a little over the top.
anyone could look at state's schedule last year and legitimately see a 6-2 start and those assupmtions were very valid.... this year most indivuals would look at an ole miss shedule and see 6 wins. the prob with the schedule for the rebs was those 6 wins were at the back of our schedule. i honestly was concerned with the rebs winning only 1 game on the front part of our schedule. we are plus 2 at this point from where i thought we would be.
