And what about Vandy's chances with Beade still yet to pitch? Louisville / Texas will be fun because it is back-to-the-wall baseball now and we will see more chances being taken. Hit and run plays seem to work so well in college baseball they should do it more often.

Vandy has hands down the best pitching staff in the CWS. They're just like UCLA last year. They need just enough offense to carry them through.

UL GONE... and UCI rocked vandy pitching but it was a mute point in the high scoring affair at TD-A. It was nice to watch a game with a little offense for a change last night.

I expect to see much better offensive production from the rebs today, and hopeful trent brings his usual stuff to the mound today. Do or Die..

Sorry rebs but the Red Raiders take it tonight. They're throwing a good lefty, to which you struggle against.

sometimes its tough for me to see if your looking through your maroon goggles or if you are being objective. i actually don't recall you saying rebels win a single game in the super. so this definitely on par for where i thought your prediction might be.

It's amazing how some people know how to do everything in sports. They would be the best coaches in the world. Yet no one offers them a job. :?

TCU and Virginia played a marathon of a game. I know the park plays big but that was some really good pitching by both teams. 90+ mph arms with great breaking stuff from pitcher after pitcher, both schools. The long inning affair would make one think it really helped the Rebels, but neither team wasted pitches and were pretty efficient at keeping bullpens in good shape. As in previous CWS at Ameritrade, it comes down to defense and who does not make the mistakes. Not knocking the Rebels, but the best two teams in Omaha may have played tonight. One could argue Vandy and not be wrong. Anything can still happen, these are 20 yr olds lets not forget. Lots of strategy in the dugouts being used every game. I would like to see a HR every now and then for sure, but one cannot deny that the games have been exciting with all of them going down to the wire. The BBCOR bats have brought parity to the sport and Ameritrade only increases that parity. I like a little more offense to watch, and a possible walk HR possibility would make things a little better, but overall great baseball being played. The best still seem to rise to the top even under these "stock car" type conditions.

i thought all night that the longer the marathon went the better it would be for the rebs. but after looking over the box scores, i really don't think it changes much. they only threw 3 pitchers. starter went 8 innings and had 100+ pitches and the other 2 pitchers threw less than 40. That being said, if we played today, it helped; with them having a day off i don't think it changes much, if anything. Agreed, about them looking the part for the 2 best teams, easy to see why they were national seeds.

Lets guess....your prediction, you're so unpredictable I might be reaching here, but what the hoo? Let's give her a shot...you've been so accurate so far, I might have a chance
