Po Monkey-

If you want to get out the record books for BBall in the SEC, we can do that next week....I'll look foward to it. In the meantime, I'm headed out to Jazzfest.

Go get your facts straight and be prepared.

Start with all time wins
Winning percentage
SEC Championships
SEC Tourny Championships
Number of players drafted
NCAA Tourny appearnaces.

Take your pick....quit rambling. I never said Alabama was dominant in BBall as Kentucky, but we are far ahead of you clowns to the west.

P.S. To mention Ole Miss bball and Alabama Bball in the same sentence is a joke....almost as big as comparing them in football.

Well, Well, well, so our little school cheats

At least none of our wealthy jock supporters have got a conviction in federal court after trying to pay some poor coach to influence his kid to come to our school. That's another record the crim$on tide holds

Your inflated ego...well, you just can't hide ignorance

I guess Po Monkey was unable to back up his "claims" that Bama doesn't really have anything to talk about regarding basketball.

I gave you plenty of time! What gives? I've been to NOLA and back. You could have at least spent some time telling us how great Rod Barnes is.

But I do see that tweeedle-dee and tweedle-dum (bigdumber and jeffgordonisgay) haven't lost their wit. Logan Young...Old Milwaukee....Logan Young...Old Milwaukee. Repeat as necessary.

Very original guys...keep up the good work.

This place is boring....must have something to do with the Mississippi inferiority complex.

Make up your mind. Are we going to discuss Gottfrieds resume or are we going to discuss Alabama's all-time basketball records as mentioned above? :?:  :?

I can nip the Gottfried one pretty quick.
He isn't the best floor coach. Fact is, the conference as a whole doesn't have that many good coaches in comparison to other conferences. He's been there 6 years I believe, and he's won the SEC, 2 Western Division titles, an elite eight appearnace, 4 straight NCAA appearances, and a trip to the NIT final the year before that.

He lost basically a player per year to the NBA -although only two are surviving (Williams and Wallace).

Nothing spectacular, but surely not warranted a "most underachieving coach in the history of the NCAA." And certainly headed in a direction differnent than your program.

Now if you want to discuss all time bball records as mentioned, thats really not something that can be debated. Its fact. And we seem to have more than a "slight" edge. :D

And in case you didn't notice the whole point of my original post was to reveal some good information regarding our stellar basketball program to the fine fans of M$U who seem to be going through a tough time right now.

So, in summary:

We agree that Gottfried is an average floor coach.

We agree that Alabama basketball is superior to OM and M$U.

We agree that the SEC as a whole has sub-par coaches.

We agree that OM and M$U appear to be having some recent problems with their bball programs.

We only seem to disagree that Alabama has been blessed with all this NBA talent that you speak of over Gottfrieds career.

I can live with that. It's always funny watching you folks get sidetracked from the topic at hand.

BTW, NASCAR has no boundries. A state line will not seperate the fact that those who watch it are rednecks.

Great thread!

Just trying to figure out why PML goes back and edits all his posts with a "nm"?

Must have been wrong, or perhaps embarrased. Who knows!
