A stupid TV show is just that a stupid TV show. It's a waste of DU money as well as everyone else's money involved. What they are doing is NOT duck hunting it's a bunch of prissy a$$ed spoiled rich goobers pass shooting ducks (promoting skyblasting) on some refuge somewhere. If they want to "promote" a product they ought to focus totally upon what they "supposedly" do...obtaining nesting grounds for future generations.
Typical DU show...Introduce a DU president of some country somewhere....everyone puts on their $400 Orvis waders, Grab their $1500 O/U DU commemorative fancy shmancy shotgun, load it up with their $3 per shell Hevi-shot, jump in their $45,000 DU Suburban, Get out "Drake" the DU dog, go sit in some "marsh" somewhere...(ever notice how they always sit in a "marsh") Shoot at some small dots in the sky (skyblast) after Drake brings the duck back to them OOOOOOH and AHHHHHH about how beautiful this particular "gadwallis pectoralis majoris" is....they can't call it a "gadwall" they have to come up with this off the wall proper name...like John Q Public knows what they are talking about or even care. I'd slap the $hit outta someone hunting with me if they started that crap. Anyway their show is so "@#$%#" fake it ain't even funny. That ought to be false advertising if that's what the show is all about "advertising a product.

they better not ban me

chit...I still got like 12 memberships, I get at least six magazines a month

you would think in the age of information they would do a cross referenece on their mailers and save a stamp or two no to mention a tree

hell I got six invitations to the Bolivar DU and I am on the committee!

I think they dont do it so they can show bogus increases in memberships

I really like a spin of ramseys idea, but if there is nothing left to conserve then there is no need for DU or DW, I think they play on people's ethics to support something they love and we blindly follow...heres your $25

am I to believe that there would not be any ducks to hunt if it werent for DU or DW? BS... on some level I can appreciate the efforts of both organizations, but IMO I think they have sold out

maybe Chad Manlove or Billy Ray can give us some insight as to what is going on

This is one of my favorite reactions when somebody hits DU a good lick. The first thing you hear is "Let's go ask somebody who's paid by DU ta give us some information.".

I can't speak fer anybody else, and I'm sure CM and BRF are straight shooters, but when an organization is under fire, I'm not too interested in anything somebody they pay has ta say.

And yes DD and Doc, that has got ta be tha stupidest "huntin" show out there. Who can ferget Parker Stevensen whisperin about the majestic flight of the peepee pheasant as it wings across the Nebraska sky?

That show serves ta feed the exec's egos and to court high dollar corporations so that DU's executive salaries can be paid, and it sure doesn't have any appeal to any of the $25 member types I know.

SEVERAL years ago lightning struck a natural gas pumping station and blew up a pipeline that was pumping something like 800 psi of natural gas through it...flames were ROARING at least 100 yards in the sky. My grandfather was the H.N.I.C. at the time and he had to go on the news and say something to the effect of it "looked" a lot more dangerous than it was......YEAH RIGHT.

what do federal duck stamp dollars do for Canadian habitat? Just asking because I don't know. The vast majority of nesting habitat sits over the line.

I would think very little if any at all, but then again neither does DU. From everything I've read, Canadian farmers hate DU. Furthermore, DU sandbagged ALUS because the money would have changed hands directly between the Canadian Gov't and the farmers without DU getting to dictate where and how it was spent.

I just wish someone would respond to this thread from DU. I think that they know they have screwed up. I know for a fact Robert called the HNIC John Tomke and complained. All he said what is done is done. There is nothing he could do because he was only a volunteer. I say horse crap again. He is the el presidnta! Ever time I think about this I get pissed.

That's fine.

This entire post is disheartening to say the least. DU's mission has not changed. The bottomline as I see it....DU supports wetland conservation activities throughout North America that benefit waterfowl populations. You can either support that mission or not.

I don't discuss personnel decisions on a public Internet forum. That's not the professional or proper action to take. Both, John Peeples and Billy Ray Fann are great guys and personal friends. Both will need our support in the coming months, professionally and personally.

These personal attacks and negative comments will accomplish nothing.

Hey gang,
question for seem too xtrema2 you, now I am one of those yanks you are referring to and we are the only ones who most`ly benefit from DU :?: so let me ask, what is your duck bag limit :?: because I can tell you in minnesota it is not worth a $#!+, they make it almost not worth hunting, if it was not for wanting to watch my girl perform in the field I would probably put my shot guns away thats all I have to ask...
