i will have a child by this time next year, and have 2 labs....you are right, makes me think a bit more about separating them....but no matter what, i would never put the dogs down.....give them away...but never down....
take the time a think it through before you make a decision like that...
i have a home for the dog.....

well, like tc5 said if that story happened to me...it would've constituted justifiable homicide of my duck dog.... i'm glad you haven't got my temper.... please take skeeter up, i know the dog loves you (mine is my shadow around the house and won't hardly let me out of her sight), however they will learn to love someone else and the new owner will love them back, it's the best solution....
on a side note, i'm by no means an accomplished dog trainer but
i have 2 year old twin daughters and while i won't say never, i will say that my lil' lab treats 'em like pups and hasn't been agressive in the least, we did the introduction slowly and for a long time only allowed highly supervised interactions and now she takes naps with the girls curled up next to her.... however, you can never be certain of anything with a dog....
I'm prayin' for you, but i think the right answer has already made itself obvious.

this would never fly with me, i have never allowed my duck dog to exhibit any agression towards other dogs, she had to be able to play nice (it wasn't optional and i made that VERY clear) and we've never had any agression issues with her of course i started at an early age...i'm not much of a dog trainer honestly, but i insisted that my pup be well socialized....She hates other dogs and has a history of not playing nice with them

The issue has been resolved.
Due to the "passion" this discussion has stirred on both view points I will leave it at.
Thanks for a lot of great advice and allowing me to get this issue out.
Again many thanks,
damnyankee
