Just for discussion sake...Will the same type of performance be acceptable to the Ole Miss folks?...a good coach that cant get over the hump? I think it is a legitimate question when you look at coaches like Cut and Bower?

Ole Pisss must realize that 7 to 8 wins a year in the SEC is pretty freaking good. And they might be able to attain that with Nutt  cough cough bullchit cough....

If he can consistently win 7 to 9 games, I think Nutt can stay in Oxford for the next 20 years. Correct me if I am wrong, but I really don't get the sense that Ole Miss has a national title mindset. If they can win the West once every five years and compete for it one in three, I think Ole Miss will be satisfied.
If that was all they wanted why didn't they keep Cutcliff? I thought the whole point of getting rid of Cutcliff was to take the next step forward?

Either way...I think it was a good hire and one that will bring the program back from where it has been the past couple of years.... If nothing else he is a guy who can get ya'lls program back to a point where you can at least talk about taking that next step again....

Yes, but after he benched Mustain, who was 7-0 as a starter after the first series at UCS-e last year, nutt said, and I quote, "I have a quick trigger, you know." Amazing this was about two weeks after the book where Mustain had called NUtt a dork (Oddly enough) after the OLE Miss game where he was on the postgame show defending his playcaller by proclaiming, "I called that play, brother" while talking to Chuck Barrett, The Voice of the Razorbacks. Minutes later Casey Dick and Marcus Monk both said they checked into that play at the line of scrimmage.

Get ready boys, it's going to a hoot.

I want you to count how many times he uses the word "special" tommorrow. And keep his hot Okie white trash trailer park MILF wife and her dike friends away from the computer. Just remember Ol' Nutt was texting strange tang 15 minutes before the Cap One Bowl kickoff last year. Hide your wimmin.

Good Gawd, you haven't heard about the over 2,000 text messages in a month's time to a tv news anchor name Donna. Where the hell have you been. By the way, you could count the ones to recruits on one hand.

Personally, I don't care who he f@#$s, so long as he wins and follows the NCAA and SEC rules doing it. If he wants to bring the newscaster lady with him to make things a bit easier, no problem here. If he wants to bang some secretaries, then we can hire him a sexatary or two. This is football, not a Supreme Court appointment.

Just win baby!! AND save all the drama for yo mama.

On a more serious note, I think anyone, including a football coach, can stay in one place too long. And after ten years at AR, I think it had reached that point for both Nutt and the fanbase, regardless of the reasons. Sometimes, change can be good for all concerned. It keeps things fresh and prevents complacency.

Holtz won at AR, but eventually the fans got restless and belligerent. Ditto with respect to Hatfield, who also won at AR, but apparently without enough pizzazz. Danny Ford did not last too long either. Nutt has lasted longer than any other Hog coach other than Broyles.

Nutt, had he stayed at AR, would likely have over-stayed his welcome, and could have found himself in the unemployment line at the end of next year without all of these good job openings available. It was time for him to make a move. And it worked out good for Ole Miss, IMO. And for AR. Nutt and Ole Miss get a fresh start together. And AR will get a fresh start with a new head coach hand-picked by the new AR power brokers and the Springdale suburbia mafia.

no Holtz did what Nutt did, he let top in state recruits go and alienated hs coaching staffs.

Think Kieth Jackson for Holtz, think D'angelo Williams, think Cedrick Houston. It helps even less when SEC schools get them like Burns and Ziemba at AU

Nutt's Murray St. mafia
C. vaughn- worthless DBack coach, very good recruiter.
Markuson- outstanding, outstanding Oline coach
Allen-servicable d coach

other's
Tracy Rocker. great dline coach, him and Markuson I'll miss.

Shibest- worthless ST coach, was a HC juco head coach and won NC, he was to light up the juco trails in recruiting, he's flopped. Had glory under Hatfield with Groovey slinging it to him.

Herring, hasn't quite lived up to the hype but a good DC. Comic relief

Alex Wood WR coach-odd man out

Decker- strength coach. I'm indifferent.

And it really didn't help Holtz to get on the Tonite Show with Jonny carson and say this about Fayetteville, "It's not the end of the world but you can see it from there" Broyles also expressly told him to stay out of politics as head coach and he went and did tv spots for Jesse Helms in NC against his wishes.

Now come on Big Gumbo, no need to trash the man on the way out. One man's garbage is another man's treasure.

Nutt had DMac, Jones and Hillis in the backfield. What in the hell did you guys expect him to do? Run a no huddle spread option offense with a new OC in his first year out of the high school ranks? How f$%^%ing stupid is that?? I submit that if Malzahn, Mustain and his big mouth mother had shut their damned mouths, and been more patient, Nutt would still be your coach, you probably would have won 10+ games this season and maybe the West, and next season would be set up to transition to more of that spread offense with Mustain and the rest of the Springdale gang leading the charge. But hell no, baby Mustain publicly dissed his coach and caused team dissention, Mama Mustain ran her mouth and led a near mutiny in Broyles office, and Malzahn, with backing from your new money power brokers, had to have his way immediately. I guess Nutt should have told DMac and Jones the following: "look guys, I know you are the best two running backs in the SEC and the best RB tandum in the country, but I am going to cut your snaps so this new frosh QB can throw to receivers every down ...receivers we don't even have yet or are frosh... forget the Heisman DMac, Mama Mustain knows best". Surely you don't buy that bullschit and know more about football than that. Dammit boy.
