The first weekend could've been just the 24th and 25th. Then the rest of the season could've been the 1st through the 27th, that way there isn't that one day gap on the 4th. You'd still have the same number of weekends and the season wouldn't end in the middle of the week. I'd prefere it to be one lump season from Nov. 29 thru Jan. 27 with no breaks. You'd only lose 1 weekend. I didn't realize how important those two days were. Appreciate the feed back Bullet, I guess that's why I do what I do, and yall do what yall do.

I dont understand why people can't read that regs. I mean if 20 people got caught hunting Tuesday, thats say less than 1% of the entire MS duck hunting population, why should everything be "dumbed" down just for these few Ignant folks. It's not the rest of the law abiding citizens fault that these guys got caught, there is no reason to change the seasons, leave them like they are they are obviously working for the Majority of us.

I have no problem with that. I stated previously that I have no sympathy for folks who can't read and obey the season dates. I was just discussing why the dates are the way they are.

Alright everyone, there was no way that those guys didn't know the season was closed. They HAD to have known it was closed due to the fact that it is NEVER a light hunting day at the Break. And, when only one boat came back to the ramp with NO ducks after all that shooting, they were obviously the scouts to see if the man was waiting. I say NO MERCY!!! They should lose thier hunting licenses, guns, cars and boats. The only way this will stop is if all of those outlaw @##$%$#$'s are just plain scared to violate anymore!

I know that, and I wasnt pointing a finger at you, I was just expressing my feelings toward the matter. Now as for the dates, they have been this way for several years but up until last year or the year before we were closed on Christmas Day instead of the 4th. Its done this way so that we will have the most possible mandays/weekends that we can. This helps out those who work durring the week.

Wow seems like all this just happened within the past few days. The guys have not even had a chance to go to court yet. Believe me a lot can happen between now and the time they go to court I know. If someone wants to hunt illegially thats fine with me just don't include me in it. I'm fine with abiding with the laws. Just don't understand why you want to bash those who aren't. Like a judge told me one time its only illegial if you get caught.

well doesnt take a rocket scientiest to figure out why....... if crap like this keeps happening its just gonna be harder to hunt for us(who follow the laws) more money to hunt, or even things keep progressing the way it has between peta, federal gun laws, and stupid hunters, there will be less time if any to hunt.
people like that give you and me both a bad name, and a bad rep. they dont follow the laws therefore folks might hear the story and think in general that people dont follow the law.
on a side note, i would love to meet the judge that told you its only legal if you get caught......

Seems there are some people around that have never made a mistake, heaven forbid everyone is not as perfect as some people on this site. Some of you sound like a bunch of old grandmas talking over the clothes line. Of course no one in there right mind would hunt out of season over there...........Normal peolpe make mistakes.......Ignorance is no escuse but it is a Hard lesson learned.

It may be hard for some people to realize that what occured Tuesday Dec. 4 was a mistake and was not done on purpose. I will say if i wasn't involved in this it would probably rattle my cage that there were people hunting out of season and would hold some sort of grudge on them but to go as far as some of yall are is going to far. As to what happens to the eight people that made this dumb booty mistake. Everyone has there on opinion but just think if you were in there shoes.

I understand your thoughts exactly, I have hunted out of season and killed over the limit before. I choose now to shy away from that due to the hefty cost of what it takes to get out of those such charges. If someone is willing to take the risk and the cost of hunting illegialy then by all means more power to you. I just try to abide by the law anc may occasionally break it. Hopefully these guys can get out of this or get it cleared up, but last time I checked I did not know everyone was perfect. It will be interesting to see the outcome of this dilema.

no one on here is perfect..... no one has claimed to be perfect..... people break laws everyday...... no one is claimin that at all, people are just saying THAT IF, IF, IF, IT WAS NOT A MISTAKE THEY SHOULD BE PUNISHED AND DO NOT AGREE WITH IT.

i personally find it hard to believe that it was a mistake if the story i understand is true about one boat coming back first to check the boat ramp with no ducks....... hard to believe it was an honest mistake after hearing that, but if it was, i DO UNDERSTAND what some folks are saying. however, i do understand what others are saying about reading the papers and the website to see the dates. but, once, again, no one is perfect, when i and others on this site voice their opinons, its just that, a opinion.
and if you think this site is full of perfect people and grandmas, why get on it?

gottickets120407, I want to get this straight, are you one of the violators? Your statement was "I will say if i wasn't involved in this it would probably rattle my cage that there were people hunting out of season and would hold some sort of grudge on them but to go as far as some of yall are is going to far." Or am I reading your statement wrong?

Well, if it really was an accident then that sucks! Nothing is worse than getting caught doing wrong when you had no idea you were in the wrong! It is always better to be safe than sorry- you never know when a game warden is right around the corner. They are just doing there jobs- I'm glad they are around making sure there will be game for all of us in the future!
