But to be honest. If it had to be a Dem in the White House I think I would prefer Hillary over Obama..

Hillary Started. Wonder how that will play out. The President is on the rag and is not taking calls.

I read an article that stated she teared up in an interview about the surge of Obama in NH.. There's no crying in Politics. Of course it could all be a ploy with her to win some sympathy votes from other women voters..

Read the link...the man has been a practicing Christian for well over 20 years, way before he started getting interested in politics, and despite spending some time abroad as a child was not "raised in an Islamic household". He doesn't wear his faith on his sleeve, like many candidates on both sides of the aisle (insert Larry Craig joke here), and I respect him for it and think all the "he's a Muslim" stuff is ridiculous. Feel free to not like him or his politics, you've got every right, but at least do it on the facts.

I read the link(2nd time,1st time was weeks ago).It states a claim from Insight magazine that CNN refutes. No doubt that CNN wants Obama to look electable, that certainly would not be the first tme that they have distorted the news to support there liberal agenda. Mind you that I am not claiming that he,or his father are "radical muslims" .However,I do find it difficult to believe that an Islamic school would not promote an Islamic agenda. The snopes link does state that he did, indeed attend such a school. And,he did live in a predominatly Islamic community when he was young.I was stating that there was an influence of Islam, not equating him with Al Queda,or any other extremist group.I know that he is a member of a Christian Church. However, 'wearing one's faith on one's sleeve" is a part of Christianity. Jesus said that we must pick up our cross daily. The Bible states that "he who has been set free is free indeed" It's hard to hide a born again experience once it has happened to you.

In my readings on this issue there is no difference between a regular muslim/islamic and a "Radical" muslim/islamic. Islam in itself is "radical. The degree they take it to has a bearing on how "radical" they are percieved. If you want to get the scoop, read a book entitled "Onward Muslim Soldier". It will explain alot. All Islamic people are taught to hate and attempt to eradicate the "non believers" in their eyes. The ones that carry out the teachings of Islam are the ones labeled by society as "radical" by us, but in the eyes of Allah they are doing correctly. The fact that any U.S. citizen would even think about electing someone who has ties to these beliefs is perplexing. If he is elected, I believe, you will see a major downfall in the United States much greater than their already is. I think Obama has alterior motives and ,even if I am dead wrong, he is too "green around the ears" to take the role of President of the United States.

On the other hand I am not sure who I would vote for on the Republican ticket.

Hillary hurt herself in Iowa because she made the comment that the caucus system should be done. And, this is the only time you will hear me say this, I agree with her. How can a few "select" states determine who is the presidential nominee for a particular party. But that is something for another topic.

I completely agree. But there's a difference between a genuine expression of faith and representations regarding faith when convenient. The latter seems to happen a lot with politictians of both stripes, and professional evangelicals. Bible also says "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

You are right about that! That often comes to my mind with many (not all) of the "televangelist"

I don't know if you could call him a "duck hunter" or not, but I'm pretty sure Huckabee has spent some time in a pit or two. (Definitely more of a duck hunter than Clinton).

Only time I ever saw Huckabee in person was when he came in a cafe on main street at the festival in Stuttgart and sat at the table next to me and my family. Seemed real nice....weighed about 400 then.

So this is the new first family you want to represent the good ole USA? Meet the Huckabees ! !

Obama may attend a "Christian" church, but it's a little different than most Mississippi Christian churches. Notice that he always refers to his "membership" in the Trinity United Christian Church and never makes any referral to his "faith." As most of us who have been raised in the Bible Belt know, Faith and Membership are two different animals.

Here's Obama's church website:
