We had a great time. They put on a great test. They did one heck of a job and this was their first test. All their workers and bird boys showed up and worked hard, which is becoming a rarity these days.

Sunday morning water felt like a real hunt and the dogs did not want to leave the line when it was over. They thought it was a real hunt that morning. Fog, whistling wings of ducks, pheasants and chukars in the vicinity, a few snow geese cackling with 35 degree temps and a good breeze... those dogs were FRISKY. I will be going back to this one.

Max did ok. Line manners stayed in tact all weekend, but got worried sunday afternoon when those eyes started to glaze over on way to bucket. He stepped on all his marks. Water blinds good both days. Poor land blind on saturday, had two cast refusals on blind after he winded bird would not sit, and two whistled land blind on Sunday with no refusals.

I have a few pictures of da brown doggies and even a standard poodle that ran seasoned. Never have tried to figure out how to post pictures. If i have time to figure it out, I will post them up.

Passed on Sunday. Failed Saturday, I was told that even though dog lined the blind, they were looking for teamwork between dog and handler and since Max would not take the sit (two whistle refusals) four feet from the bird that it showed lack of control... Rest of judges sheet looked good.

The Judges put up a good seasoned test which showed me what I need to work on in the future.
