Was it frozen? I had trouble with my throttle cable freezing up on me due to the inclement weather we saw this past weekend.

Hey I'm just messing around with ya, what a bummer that was I'm sure.

42 total for the weekend. Mostly gadwald, 9 mallards. Public land with hunters who set up within 100 yds of us. We toughed it out and still got our ducks. One pair of hunters set up 80 yds out in front of our decoys. Didn't take them long to pack up and move.

B- 110" 8 point Lonoke County, ARK 11/19/03 PM

*3 1/2 years old....Biggest buck ever killed on my buddies property..

C- 118" 9 point Hinds County, MS 11/26/03 AM

*Management buck...Live weight 255#...16" spread, 22" inch beams, 4 3/4 inch bases, short tines...Age guesstimate of 7 1/2 years old...Lots of gray all over...Very long and wide nose...Taxidermist will remove jaw bone and officially age so I don't booger up mount...

Okay here is a deep south total--the Gulf Coast. Lefthorn and me went Fri. morining and that evening and didn't fire a shot. We let two fly in on top of us and then bank away before we could get our thumbs out of you know what  . Damn alarm clock screwed up for Sat. morning so Lefthorn went alone  . Had a redhead swim into the dekes--couldn't get it to fly so he tried water whacking it----4 times. All he did was kill a few dekes   ! Tried throwing stuff to make it fly, waved at it etc. Only flew off when he got in the boat to pick up the dekes. We went Sunday evening to check out a different area. I shot at a woodie and cut some feathers, but didn't even phase him  . I'm shooting Kent fast steel for the first time and I think I lead him too much. Oh well, that's why it's hunting and not shooting. Best of luck to all and BE CAREFUL AND COURTEOUS.

Shoulda got more, but we had company set up about 100 yards away. They shot at blackbirds, crows and all ducks within 90 yards. They had no problem hail-calling when we had ducks working. Oh well, the joys of hunting public land!

I looked back on the hunting logs from 2000-2001 and they were pretty close to this year so far, and we had a decent year that year, maybe it'll happen again :D either way I'll take it over last year!
