We were in Midway area yesterday. Looks like a giant cutover.
Where are you located, we have some land on 433 but i think it all got missed by the tornado.mudweiser92887 wrote:it was defiantely a big and powerful tornado. Ive never seen damage like that before. It absolutely destroyed all of the hardwoods on my place. I swear there aren't any trees left standing. It just sucks so bad when u put so much time into a place and in less than an hour all of your hard work is destroyed. Oh well I guess ill just have to wait till im about 70 to start seeing the hardwoods again....

from tallula, la to oktibbeha county (starkville). looked pretty menacing here (was on the road back from memphis...fun fun drive to and from - apparently we got out of memphis just before it hit, as we were hearing damage reports from areas we had left no more than 30 minutes before coming south down hwy78). when we got back, we came around the back way down artesia rd. b/c the tornado was down north of campus and out hwy 389 where some houses got blown off foundations. there were about 6 different storm chasers in the median along alt45 filming the storm.cwink wrote:Heard on the news this morning that the Tornado was on the ground for 197 miles and was between 1 and 1.75 miles wide and that it was the widest and 4th longest on record..

I sat at the end of Davis Rd trying to keep out folks who didn't belong there on Sunday. Rode around for a while that afternoon up Davis Road and 433 and back to Pierce Crossroads and those woods are gone. It will be a decade or longer before you can walk through the woods again.
Nope. Panther Swamp is farther north that the path of the storm.emo wrote:I have a camp in Satartia that dodged the bullet. Was wondering if Panther Swamp was in the line of the storm?
