So what does having a relative fighting in the Civil War have anything to do with it? I got a 3 great grandfather who fought in the Civil War, Adolph Romero. I've traced my family back to two brothers who came over from Spain (granted way before the Civil War as Adolph was upwards of 40s when he fought) and then traced those brothers back to Romeros in Ireland.

I'm saying My Ansestors have lived in this country long enough for me to say I'm an American. I didn't move here last year and become African American, Arab American, Dumb American..or whatever

All of the ones that weren't are all dead now. They came over years and years ago.

Thats Buckwabits point. No one is saying anyone that is born here is less of an American or person because their ancestors are from somewhere else. Some folks just think that on something like Miss USA, when you are a representative of the country, being a natural born citizen should be a requirement. Hell up until Barry Obama, the Prez had to be natural born. And no, I'm not saying Miss USA and the Prez are on the same playing field.
