Man that is an awesome bird. I have been waiting to see a picture of it since your first FB post about it. How many people did you nock down/unload their guns to be able to shoot that?

I really need to visit with you about some Rx glasses, Jeff. Until it's gotten light enough anymore I don't even bother shooting for the inability to hit anything. So until it had lightened I enjoyed the spectacle of dark shadows working overhead while my blind partner chipped away at a predawn flight of whistlers. If I fired any prior shots I really can't remember. But I'll never forget the hypnotizing sight of that white bird locked and decoying right to left like magic; floating in like a big beautiful paper airplane from out of nowhere. Through the imperfect filter of memory my mind's eye remembers a single beam of sunlight illuminating it like an onstage performance. Boom. Like it was just meant to be. That bird, which is likely better described as amelanistic than albino, represents a whole lot more than another stuffed bird, but that's a story for another place and time.

Last one. Cold and windy. Spent hulls and dead ducks on the water, ducks pouring in, memories for a lifetime. The only missing ingredient is YOU.

Ramsey, you know I can fix you up, come on down anytime. I would say I'll take you fishing/hunting but between the oil spill and Brayden being in the NICU in New Orleans for likely another couple of months fishing/hunting will prolly be tough for a little while. Either way I got some good seafood/Middendorf's that we could eat and make you see all at the same time.

That says alot about GetDucks. Sam told me he had hunted with several other outfitters over the years but not since getting hooked up with you guys. The fact that he continues to use your services, year in and year out, is enough said for anyone not familiar with what yall do.

What type of lens are you using on your DSLR?

Can't wait till September.

Best regards,

I'm back from a long and prosperous trip down "Neath the Southern Cross. Several areas have great potential and will be a destination for many hunters in years to come. We found the holy Grail of rosybills along with some diverse shooting for up to four species of birds and looks like Goose Hunting will be coming back also. I targeted areas we knew little about and looked for species for my collection as well. some new ones and some more of ones I already had cause I wanted more.

Rosybill beatdown. 106 in 41 minutes.

56 on my strap, the bird boy carried these out.

Of course Ramsey did make one mistake and put me with a guide he knew little about. Samrt, savvy, confident and very well educated in the hunting business. A definate plus for out future trips and someone we can trust with our clients. Did I mention good looking?

Decoys are simple, but work real well!

Upland bird shooting takes a back seat to nothing down there with millions of doves and pigeons plus Perdiz and i killed my first Martinetta, one of the largest of the Tinamou species.

Picazuro Pigeons with Eared Dove for comparison.

This was an unique afternoon hunt one afternoon. I followed the best Brittany Spaniel that was one of the best bird dogs I have ever hunted over and had a ball. The guide said I had to quit shooting the big European Hares as they weigh in aroung 8 to 10 pounds each and his back was hurting from lugging them. I shot 17 Perdiz on 19 points and ended up shooting 13 ducks off a small pothole right at dusk. Was a beautiful way to end the day.
