Handguns by the bed are in a vault with the finger tip combination lock, and all the long guns are out of reach with ammunition at the other end of the house. When we get in the new house in the spring it's all going in a safe. Getting it all out of harms way was the first thing I did when he got mobile!

Locked all my guns up after getting a big male lab....my wife sleeps through tornado sirens but not his barking. I keep a bat at the bedroom door :wink:

are you guys really going to shoot buckshot 12 ga's in the house in the pitch black in the middle of the night without knowing where the rest of your family members are? I don't think one human body and a layer of sheet rock will stop that stuff. FYI #6 low brass 2 3/4 is flat nasty in any range you are realistically talking about (unless you are rich like Justin and have a footballfield for a living room), and has very little chance of going through an intruder then a wall then your kid's skull.
