I do not think the small park at FSU is as a big a concern as some of the reporters are saying. We will hit some long balls there I believe. Slaughter has hit a lot of balls hard this season, warning track type balls at DNF. Porter due, Renfroe and Rea can lose one. We may hit several. Especially if they are throwing the fastballs and not the breaking stuff...HAHA.

it aint that small compared to the DUDE actually LF is 10ft further as is center... RF is about 10 feet shorter with a 30ft fence

May not be that small, but balls do get out of there.

Gotta win game 1 before you can start thinking about game 2 in the winner's bracket

Well you have to win game 2 regardless. If you're going to gamble, game 1 is the time to do it. If we need Stratton against Samford, then there's something up.

I think its pretty evident that Cohen and Butch know how to manage their pitching rotation after last week. If they say Stratton gets the start then we have to think they know what the heck they are doing.

I don't think Graveman is 100%. I think that's why we are throwing Stratton today.

It would take awhile and a lot of searching, but I'm curious to see how many teams are throwing their ace in game 1.

The Ole Miss crowd is quiet. I am assuming Wahl is starting? What is the history with TCU? What is the feeling about the potential for success in the regional? IF Ole Miss can get their act together, I believe they have a shot at making some noise.

They split the first series of the year... Ole Miss has just been off here lately. They have the talent to get it done. Ole Miss on paper is actually stronger than TCU and according to RPI 26-38

Ole Miss
34-.298 Batting average
64- 3.57 ERA

TCU
199-.268 Batting Average
27- 3.17 ERA

Don't know anything about this years team but I believe TCU made it to the CWS a couple of years ago. I remember they had a stud ace pitcher.

Don't like the idea of throwing your ace in the first game unless you are a 3 or 4 seed. You only get to use Stratton once in the regional. We may have to face Florida State 2 or 3 times without Stratton pitching any of those games. Not the strategy I would use. Just have to trust Cohen.

Brett,

I agree. Ole Miss has the horses. I realize past years have little bearing on this game, but was curious about a longer term history. As for OM being a little off, baseball is a weird game. If Ole Miss can click, I think they have a real shot at moving on. My thought is several OM fans agree but don't want to jinx it by actually coming out and agreeing.

BTW, I missed you at the Tournament. Did you end up driving up? I sat with your brother and dad for both weekend games.
