Moral of the story.....don't cuss strangers in the swamp.
That is very good advice.

"speak softly, and carry a big stick." - Theodore Roosevelt

Maybe insert paddle for stick...

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Particularly if the fella with stitches went and filed a report and the guys with badges see a witness with his name listed in his signature line posting about it on ducksouth

Being Respectful works both ways.

when some body "disrespects you" it doesn't give you the freedom to treat them however you like

you blind side them with a paddle - I'm pretty sure that's not being Respectful.

karma is tough - if I were you, I would part ways with the paddle slinger.

treat folks like you wanna be treated, even if they talk to you like a dog.

its just a duck hunting - its not like the guy had a knife to yall's neck.

His nine witnesses...and your eleven that would risk perjury charges by not being truthful under oath.

...says the guy who admitted that his buddy did in fact go upside a stranger's head with a boat paddle because he can't handle being called an expletive.....

if you're called to testify, you gonna tell the judge/jury just like you told us?

was it at one of the old blind sites? Still numbers on the tree? I wonder if they knew you are from MS, if so the rest of us OOSers trucks might get burned at the motels or ramp.

I had AR tags on my truck and trailer so no worries there. As far as the numbers on my boat, I went by him so fast there's no way he was able to read them so I wouldn't worry about any OOS retaliation...

I guess I'm just not seeing where it's that big of a deal. It's not like it was a full sized paddle...

While we are talking about being respectful on public land....to the guys that loaded their boat Sunday morning at an unnamed WMA in West Central MS, I believe soemone told me they call themselves the Rat Squad or something....next time don't park your truck and trailer right in the damn way so others can't load their boat...we politley swung your trailer to the side of your truck so we could have room to load our boat. You may not have thought about it, or you may have thought that if you parked there nobody else could get in, but it is not a good idea to block the ramp at a public boat ramp.

Really? I have clients that have hit ppl with smaller, less lethal objects (and sometimes just their fist) looking at agg assault indictment. That's no more duck hunting (unless you hunt them with a bow) or at the very least issues with FBI-NICS next time you try to purchase a gun.

Just be careful out there. A duck or a limit is not worth the hassle of a felony arrest/indictment/conviction.
