This is classic. This thread should be forever archived under the "really dumb criminals" file.

Last time I checked, sports gambling was ILLEGAL in Mississippi. Therefore, collection of sports wagering bets is likewise illegal. There is no legal remedy for any breach of such an illegal agreement. In principle, it is the same as drug deals.

So, why is our duck board being used as a collection tool by someone with close ties to a jilted bookie? This is our virtual coffee shop for discussion. And someone has come into our coffee shop and taken a large dump. It's time to call in the clean up crew to take out the trash.

Here is a hint for the amateur bookie enforcer: no one here could give two squirts of piss whether your bookie friend gets paid or not. This ain't a debt ( illegal debt at that) collection board. Man up and take it somewhere else.

I'm thinking my friends in the MS AG's office might be interested in this thread. Ponder that while you decide your next move.

Shoot...speak for yourself. This is the most action we've had around here in while. like all other threads, if you don't want to read it, don't click on it.

I myself would like to hear more about Rice's process of picking games, b/c I seemed to have lost my ass this past year, and the simple fact that everytime he posts he now has to include a picture.

So Rice...what system do you use to pick your games?

I am NOT a lawyer, but the legality of sports betting is very questionable.

The federal government allows it, but MS does not. Federally- Most people get busted for tax evasion or interstate trafficing. I know someone who is currently in a legal battle for being a bookie. He was advised well when he started his operation. He used lines set by Vegas-Thus he bypassed the Federal Law stating it was illegal to scheme. He paid taxes on the income under a LLC-thus he bypassed any tax violations. He also only took bets in person-Never over the phone-thus he could prove he only operated in State and broke no Interstate trafficing laws. He has been fighting this legal battle for almost three years-it appears he is only going to pay some fines when everything is said and done. He made plenty of "fine money" in 10+ years.

Again, I am NOT a lawyer, just second hand information from someone in the business.

Im just still trying to fugure out why broadcast this on a publoc forum if you have nothing involved in it. Thats about as dumb as those fat guys dressed like ninjas robbing house I guess.

What you tell the bookie? Your gonna go on your duck hunting site and call him out and get him hounded? Dont think that will happen here.
