My dog passed seasoned both days earning me a title and a cold bath. I was scolded by the judges both days. Saturday for "John Wayneing" the gun and Sunday for whistling again after a whistle refusal and making the dog sit and look at the bird. The test was fair and the judges were excellent. Annie ran Saturday like a champion but Sunday was a skin of your teeth pass. I am now looking to run all hunt tests in the rain.

And Malli's streak ended at 12 passes and a Grand pass to also look like a unmature seasoned dog Saturday.
Thanks Girl.

Not at all mad. That's what happens when you haven't started training for about a week. Long lay off.
I think we got some good stuff out of it and no where to go from there.

Jonathan, could you please describe the performance of the working dog you ran at the end of finished?
Mark Land - What happened at the land blind Sunday was your dog was in good position and you blew the whistle. I think the deal was, and I cringed when you blew it, you should have never blown the whistle at the end.
If your dog is real close, don't blow. If your dog has a nose full of bird, Don't blow. If your dog has a nose full of bird and has just refused a sit whistle, just let her do her on thing and you try to cover the blunder by giving a verbal cast of whatever is needed. If a dog run by a pro looses a little control at the end of a blind, you will see them cover it by giving a toot, toot, come in or something else like a verbal cast to make it not quiet so clear the dog was out of control. The judges give that the ole wink and nod treatment often.
Basically, you gave a whistle stop when the dog was right on top of the bird. On paper, that reads, WR, or worse, "OOC". We have all done it. Know you know.
Good looking dog.
