[quote="swamprooter"]Fact 1 : Gumbo WRONG again. Tuberville had in his contract that if Auburn looked for a coach behind his back.....contract is due, payed in full.he gets his seven figures . tubby walked and not by Auburn orders ..... BR549 watch your company!

Fact 2: John Bond works for Utah Construction. Utah Construction is one of States largest donors. Is Bond the Bully bag man? :o i would send Bond to China immediately looking for a bug resistant rice seed for 2 years if I was Humpback

You spelled Utah wrong.

Linking a Gregg Doyell article is about as credible as posting something from the Bleacher Report.

Just sayin'

So are Thayer Evans, Pete Thamel, & just about all the media whores that work for ESPN, yet everybody has considered their stories to be the gospel.

I am perplexed by the underhanded practices of these few reporters and their "slithering sources" leaking these rumors. What is their motivation in these attacks, jealousy, hatred of a school or individual, etc?

I mean, this is unchartered territory in college football politics, is it not? You would think Newton is running for Congress the way these media attention hounds are after him and his current college.

This whole deal is just disgusting. Yeah, I am an Auburn fan, but I can honestly say that if I were a fan of any other school in the SEC my sentiment would be the same. It is just ridiculous that mess like this is taking place.

Newton has obviously made some mistakes in his past. He has turned his life around and has become very successful. For some glaring reason people can't stand to let that transition take place. :?

So, if there is any truth to this stuff, Holey, will you, then, understand the fervor with which these stories have been investigated and reported? Your opinion of these reporters is only as strong as your belief that the stories are false.

The media, by and large, reports stories that the masses are interested in. If the entire sports world had your opinion, it would be a non-story. Unfortunately, you and your kind are the tiniest of minorities, as it pertains to Cam Newton news. Sorry.

I remember being this naive when ole Albert Means and Lyne Lang were in the news.

Oh, happy days those were.

I'll give Auburn credit in the PR department. They have somehow made out the villans to be the media...for now at least.

Federales getting into it:

Cam Newton Drama Ignites FBI Investigation
11/9/2010 2:12 PM PST by TMZ Staff

TMZ Sports has confirmed ... the FBI has requested a meeting with a key figure in the Cam Newton college football recruiting controversy to find out if, "young men are being shopped to colleges."

The man feds want to speak with is John Bond -- a former Mississippi State football star. Last week, Bond claimed people connected to Heisman front-runner Cam Newton contacted him back in 2009 and said it would take $180,000 to get Cam to commit to MSU.

Newton eventually committed to Auburn University, where he's now one of the top quarterbacks in the country.

Bond's attorney confirms to TMZ Sports that the FBI has requested a sit-down meeting with his client -- and tells us the agent who contacted him said, "We are interested in whether young men are being shopped to colleges."

Newton has denied any wrongdoing -- and reps for Auburn have stated that Newton remains eligible to play and will start this weekend against Georgia.
