“Let’s face it,” said Robertson, “the bar has been set pret-ty low for you to get on American television these days. I think they said, ‘Why don’t we try a functional family,’ and somebody said well, that’s a novel idea. Round here, you know, there’s no outbursts, belligerence, cursing, gettin’ drunk, dope, no, we’re all Godly people, so maybe it’s a little switch for a change. We’re not actually rednecks, but we probably could be called goodoleboys.”

I watch for strictly the words of wisdom from Si and Willie- top two so far:

#1- Si- "First it is purty tires, then purty shotguns, next thing you know your shaving your beard and wearing capri pants."

#2- Willie- "This duck call better be the alone thing your lips are on tonight."

" The only difference between a duck call and a fart, is cadence and odor."

My sister in law is a pharm sales rep. and definitely not the redneck type. Monroe is part of her territory. She LOVES the show and took my brother with her to the Robertson's place. She purchased a tee shirt, and my brother bought a duck call - even though he has NEVER duck hunted in his life.
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

One scene sticks out. They show a shot of willies mansion
Then they have a helicopter land in the backyard to pick up Willie

So out Willie runs heading to the Choopa

One problem. He's not exiting from the same house they just showed a shot of.

Totally different house . Not nearly as big..
The Benelli Duck Commander show pictured what was purportedly Willie's house pretty frequently. It was a nice house, but not the mansion shown on A&E. Korie's A&E questionare indicated that they have two adopted children and two children of their own, hence the multi-cultural family. Even though the show is scripted, it is still more entertaining than nearly every other show on television. It is nice to see a Christian family involved in the outdoors being depicted in a positive light.

Who cares if it's scripted or not? It is what it is... entertainment. And it's a funny show. I look at it like a sitcom, but one I can relate with.

I've never heard a curse word on the show either. That's another good thing about Duck Dynasty.

My girls have fallen in love with this show. It has even made them interested in going to the woods with me. With all the other crap on TV from the Kardashians (sp.) to 16 and pregnant, if they like this show that has nothing bad with it an actually some good life lessons then I'm okay with it.
