If Ole Miss beats Arkansas they could possibly be ranked as high as 6th or 7th on Thanksgiving day. If state were to beat them in Oxford it would a big "quality win" at the end of the season. State's only loss would have been to the #1 or 2 Alabama team on the road and in a close game. Alabama did what they had to do to win, but the stat line showed that MSU is a legit contender.

We really need Ole Miss to beat Arky, but thats not going to be an easy task. Then we have to beat Ole Miss in Oxford, which is going to be a huge challenege.

Even though there are only 2 games left, there are too many "what if's" for all the teams in the top 7 to say definitively who's in or out...

Perhaps I was too harsh. For that I apologize. The excuses comment caused me to react that way, as I made none and didn't see where anyone else did. Also given the fact that certain folks love to troll.

At the very least, they should get to play in a good bowl game. Remember when that used to be an actual goal/reward for certain programs? Yeah, this whole "playoff" thing will never catch on  It'll be a 24 team bracket just like D2 within the next 5 years.

OSU still has to beat a pretty good Wisconsin team in the conf championship game.

Oregon still has to beat Oregon St and win their conf championship game.

TCU almost lost to Kansas and has to beat Texas. Texas has looked good the last few weeks.

Baylor has to beat Kansas State.

Florida St has to beat Florida and probably Georgia Tech who looks pretty good right now.

No telling who might end up in the final four.

My preseason pick for MSU was at best a 9-3 season and more likely an 8-4 season. If we finish 11-1 or even 10-2 it is a record season
for the Bulldogs and I for one couldn't be prouder. And any True MSU bulldog fan that isn't proud should go move in with Croom or Jackie.
Anyone else see the parking lot full of true fans ringing their cowbells and cheering for the boys when they got back to Starkville Saturday night?

That's the kind of fans we all need to be. Remember where we came from, but at the same time, act like we've been there before....even if we haven't.

No excuses for the game Saturday night. We didn't have a big enough playbook to beat bama. Plain and simple.

It doesn't get any better of an explanation than that. I am proud of the Dawgs this year, looking forward to the next few games.

All the "talking heads" are calling the Bama win against the Bulldogs a marquis win which is why they jumped from 5 to 1. Those talking heads are also now saying "the Bulldogs haven't beaten anyone".....say what? Why is it a quality win when discussing Bama, but we have a weak schedule.....if Bulldogs are that bad, why / how did Bama make such a big jump? Don't the Bulldogs and Tide play the same teams?

I used to pull for any SEC school except the Oxford Bears.......but the bias towards Bama is ridiculous. I spent the week with fans from the Big 12 and Pac 12........they see it, our on conference can see it.......losing credibility very fast. For the good of the conference, I will NEVER pull for Bama again
