Unlike "most" people who went to one school or the other, I spent 5 years at MSU and 3 years at a law school in Oxford, Ms. So, I am not simply saying things that I know nothing about.
I do have friends and hunting buddies that are Ole Miss fans, but they are not like "Most" Ole Miss people.
Truth of the matter is, when it comes to sporting events, most Ole Miss people care more about hanging out in the grove, showing off and socializing than they do about the game. When I was attending that law school in Oxford, there were usually more Ole Miss fans in the grove during the games than there were in the stands. Eli has changed that over the past few years, but now that he is gone, the stands will be empty again.
I know enough about State and Ole Miss people to stand by what I said about "Most" State people and "Most" Ole Miss people.
I say they get some forestry people from MSU to log the grove and use the money from the timber sale to pave the grove. They need more student parking up there anyway.

I think some of the best conversations I have held on this board, have been with Ole Miss, LSU, Aubby fans ! From one subject to the next ! For whatever the reason,... I have gravitated toward the Ole Mess boys ! This is very sobering to me ! I don't like it one little bit !
Do I hate Ole Miss folk,.....Well heck yeah !
Mind ya now,..... It's a healthy kind of hate ! Maybe some of ya'll know what I'm talkin about !
Here's how I explain it :
I'll ring my cowbell at an Ole Miss/ LSU/ Aubby man, while screaming for em to go to torment,... but I'd do it while helping him push his car outta the ditch, or while helping him change a flat !
It's a "healthy" kind of hate ! One that just runs the length of a ballgame or something !

Don't let this thread die!!! Since we MSU people are busy anticipating which regional we will go to and how to get tickets to events like the sweet sixteen and the final four, perhaps one of the Ole Miss fans on this site could put together a MSDucks NCAA Tournament Pool. That would give Ole Miss fans something to do and a reason to watch the tournament in March.

I went to Ole Miss for a few years and am a Rebel thru and thru. And like most Rebels, I hate State. But them boys are on a role! As long as they're not playing Ole Miss, I'll cheer for 'em all day long.
Any Mississippi team that does as well as MSU has been doing deserves to be cheered for.

Congrats to MSU. That is coming from an LSU fan.
I hope they make the final four again. Would be good for the state!

It's a fine day,... when ya feel "screwed" at #4 !
But,..... that's exactly how I feel !.........WHAT A FINE DAY !
Duke, Stanford, St Joes,....... Don't want any of the DAWGS,... at this paticular time !
I'm more worried about some of the teams "behind" us,... that the ones above us !
I hope this is how "THE TEAM" feels !
It's a SCARY time of year !
Good thing about our low ranking is,... Now... If we lose... they can't drop us too far ! Duke being beat by Unranked NC State, should have put them lower than 3rd !

NC State was ranked 21 in the AP poll. they jumped 8 spots to 13. and 7 spots in the espn/ usa today. Either way they should have been ranked anyway. They've already beatin the best teams in the ACC. and the ones they lost were close heartbreakers.
Everybody be sure to go to USA today site and Vote Lawrence Roberts as Player of The Year!!!
