My first post in this thread included the following excerpt from an article written by an expert who has rejected the global warming koolaid:

"The other thing that you are seeing going on is that they have switched from talking about global warming to talking about climate change. The reason for that is since 1998 the global temperature has gone down -- only marginally, but it has gone down. In the meantime, of course, CO2 has increased in the atmosphere and human production has increased. So you've got what Huxley called the great bane of science -- a lovely hypothesis destroyed by an ugly fact. So by switching to climate change, it allows them to point at any weather event -- whether it's warming, cooling, hotter, dryer, wetter, windier, whatever -- and say it is due to humans. Of course, it's absolutely rubbish."

And since that posted quote, we have had two record global cooling years that have literally wiped out all the slight warming that had occurred over the last couple of decades. And most experts now agree that we are in the beginnning of a lengthy cooling trend.

This quote seems as pertinent now, as it did then ---perhaps even more such. (Reference Hammer's most recent post). And I take great pleasure in stating the following: "I told you so".

And with that, I will conclude my participation in this thread. Not only do I find myself returning to a point made in my very first post on the topic, but there is no real pleasure in piling on. Now if only all those who lined up to profit from this nonsense could be honest and recognize that the science and good common sense and logic dictate an abrupt end to this charade. If only....... $$$ has a funny way of distorting reality and manipulating behavior.

Carry on. PML out.

Sorry to pile on, but I just could not resist this gem I uncovered on a little trip down memory lane reading this thread.

Here is a quote from an article Hammer pasted here in May of 2007:

"THE BIG MONEY IS LINING UP...WILL YOU MISS THE NEXT BIG THING OR WILL YOU PROFIT FROM IT?

Citigroup aims $50 billion at climate over 10 years

New York, 10 May: Citigroup plans to direct about $50 billion over 10 years to address global climate change, through investments and financing of renewable energy and clean technologies, it said on Tuesday.

The New York-based financial giant said the figure is based on expected transactions with clients, as well as projects at its own operations. It includes $10 billion that Citigroup has already spent in areas affecting climate change. "

In light of Citigroup's recent financial dire straits, this is really, really funny. I just spit beer all over my computer screen when I read this. Perhaps they need to focus a little more on solid banking and saving themselves and their shareholders, letting others save the world. You just can't make up schit this funny.

Its called Corporate Social Responsibility, an organization must look out after the community. We have gotten away from this idea which led to the formation of OSHA. Since an organization would do ANYTHING for profit they would not care for their employees or the environment. It is all about accountability. An organization must be held accountable for its actions.
