I know some of you will come to their defense....
My son was chilling out at a friends house, drinking a beer and petting this pit bull. Last nite. He has handled dogs - literally - his entire life.
Next thing he knows, this dog jumps up and sinks his teeth into his skull. How Bruce did not lose an eye, was only a miracle. NEVER thought a dog would do this unprovoked... but here ya go. it happened.

A friend hit the dog in the head with a beer bottle. Dog releases, and goes back after my son. Got both arms before they almost kill this dog to get him to stop.

Nothing exciting going on. No music. Out in the country. White folks house. Owned him his whole life.

Found out last year, a long time neighbor came into the yard, and lost three fingers !

So.... what would you do ??

Hospital visit. CT Scan. 47 stitches.....

My thoughts for your boy. I know he was under the knife for surgery not too long ago.

Dang man, sorry about your son. Glad it wasn't worse. I just don't trust those dogs, I don't care how they were raised, or if they are 20 years old and never harmed a thing. I hope that dog is dead.

Dog should be euthanized immediately!!!! No questions or excuses!!! If these are truly friends of your family they should step up and fulfill the financial obligations of your son's medical bills. If they fail in that regard, your son (assuming he's an adult) should probably pursue the matter through legal means. Probably wouldn't hurt to talk to a lawyer now.
I hate to see this kind of thing happen to anyone, but we ALL must be responsible for anything unprovoked that happens to guests in our home. Especially when it comes to animals. I wish your son a speedy recovery and hope that legal means can be avoided.

Their homeowner's insurance should have liability and medical. This dog has a history of attacking....neighbor first and now your son. What's next, another innocent person, or God forbid a child get mutilated. If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck..... chances are it's a duck. UNACCEPTABLE
