Dad punishes 15 year old daughter

If it's true - what poor judgment on his part. IMO, it doesn't matter what she did or how bad it was, he, as a father, should have never set out to publicly embarass his daughter over the internet like this. Seriously, it may be funny, but could any of you dads see yourself doing this to your daughter especially at age 15/16? This is one thing very scary about these times we live in today - we are all a split second poor decision or momentary lapse of judgment away from being posted on youtube or going viral.

Seriously. Just think of the ways a 15 or 16 year old daughters get back at dads they are angry at. #1 way to get even with a dad...hang out with boys he would hate (and all that entails with that). Hope he's prepared to be a grandfather soon. Though if he shoots laptops for fun, I'd hate to be the dude that knocks up his daughter.

I actually dont know what to believe anymore. Take it for what its worth, but there are too many people running around trying to get "something" on the internet these days for some kind of fame or glory and hope it goes viral, that I believe alot of things are set ups and fake. If the guy really did this, I hope he is prepared to deal with the daddy issues.

She can't hang out with "undesirables" (cable commercial) if she's not allowed to leave the house. I would hope that she wouldn't get knocked up while she's
at school, but you never know these days. I probably wouldn't have put anything on her facebook page, because I would have deleted her page completely. My kids won't have a facebook page until they can afford their own computer to start with. My kids won't have a cell phone until they buy it for themselves and can afford to pay their own bill.

Kids are very spoiled these days. Seems like every generation that happens we get more and more undeserving and unappreciative. I had it better off than my parents, they had it better off than theirs, so on and so on. I guess our goal is to give our kids more opportunities than we had, but seems like there are some parents that just don't know how to say enough is enough. I personally see no problem with how he handled it. Tough love is needed and seems like thats what he was doing. He handled it different than I would have, but to each their own and I have no problem with how he did it.

I wouldn't have. Two reasons why.

1. I would have been too scared to ever think of doing something like that.

2. I would have never had a facebook page or computer to post it up on.


Back to my last post, the problem is a 15 year old with a Facebook page. If parents have the means to give their kids stuff like laptops of their own,
in my opinion a good way to get them to appreciate it, is for them to earn it. If they are going to let a 15 year old have a facebook page, they dang well
better be active on their page and make sure they are not putting crap like that up on it.
