A nice lawn gone bad....

So, when I built in 2010 I put sod around my house and in the front, but couldn't/wouldn't shell out for sod on the entire 2+ acres, so I had the rest graded and hydroseeded. As per usual with my household landscaping work, we got about 6" of rain that night and gutted it. So, I disked it back up, reseeded, harrowed and mulched. All I have is a bunch of weeds and crabgrass and small ruts. So, looking at options that won't break the bank.

Would it be better to burn this with roundup, cut it back up and start over, taking the risk of yet another washout? Or is it possible to scratch it up with a harrow, overseed with bermuda, and water it good to get a stand of grass? Once I get enough Bermuda up to make a turf I can control the weeds.

I would just mow it. You can spray with atrazine this fall and trimec next spring.

I've got nothing. I was looking for some sort of girls gone wild video for some reason. (hiccup)

Ok, I just thought of something. What if you round-up and and then checkerboard in some sod? A little sod would go a lot farther that way and you can water and fertilize the sod, and dry up and otherwise kill the weeds. This way, you'll at least have something to look at this summer.

Level it with box blade put harrow on it and then fertilize with urea and reseed Bermuda. It's to early in the year to do it though, you would be just pissing away your money. I would wait until mid may for a better germination rate. If you really wanted to get fancy, you could pre germinate the Bermuda seed now to get a jump start.

If you have some Bermuda growing mixed with weeds don't spray it. If you don't scrap it over a couple inches the Bermuda already present should survive. If there is absolutely no Bermuda go ahead and spray it with round up.

Reseed it and then gramoxome or round up. Let die down good then water and keep it moist good.
