My wife just fished this one out of the pool , maybe a baby corn snake ?

Which is it? I guessed corn initially but know the "saying" about a king as well.

I agree that it is worth more alive, I would NEVER kill one but a road kill is something else.

A scarlet king snake is the same thing as a eastern milk snake so yes.

Scarlet King. The pattern is to bright to be a Corn snake. The pattern is also a very precise circular pattern where the Corn snake has very irregular lines.

Scarlet king and milk snake are not the same. It looks more like the scarlet snake from that pic, but look at the belly.
Scarlet king = red rings go all the way around
Red Milk = red rings dont go all the way around, belly is white with black checkers
Scarlet snake = plain white belly with no red or black, wedge shaped head

Belly is white , it's like the rings were laid on it's back (saddle like)

They look very similar but are differnt snakes.

King snake and I had one for a pet in my classroom until some dumbazz sub decided to mess with it and it got out. Lil sob was mean though.
