by the government, then there is a good chance that you/and or the people that work for you, are MORONS. Maybe not as individuals but as a "business" entity as a whole they/you are idiots as far as independent contractors are concerned. Their/your never ending protocols and hierarchical, almost socialist, "business" models are a bane to society and the free market. Their/your regulations and "policies" are an impediment to the capitalistic entities that attempt to do business with you. They/ you are a slave. They/you are Sam's bitch. You know it, we know it, Uncle Sam knows it.

Private enterprise will find a way to work around your " business model" so that it keeps you satisfied- and the umpteenth person above you satisfied- while still managing to turn a profit. All the while proving to you in a nonchalant kind-of-way that your "policies" do not work in the world. In fact, they fail miserably. And when you fail right along with your slavemaster, the aforementioned private enterprise will continue on with free market startegies for as long as possible. And if we succumb, then at least it was on our own accord. At least we go out with a fight.

Thankfully, I don't see that happening with the business owners I work for anytime soon. They are far too sharp, seasoned and independent for that. They still have wiggle room. I love business and the dealings within it. Although I have many many years to gain only a fraction of the knowledge that my business owners possess, I know two things:

1) Anytime I hear of a "business"- that is as heavily subsidized as some that I have dealings with on a daily basis are- going down in flames and shame... I will rejoice. I hope the system chews their/ your azzes up and spits them/ you out on a cracked sidewalk in the middle of the worst ghetto that Detroit has to offer. And then the sun will dry you up like the toxic waste you are. I hope to do the same one day, if it is my calling.

2) The only thing worse than a government agency that thinks it is a "business", is a quasi-"business" that is subsidized and thinks their fecal matter smells of lush, Texas grown roses. They/you...are a joke. They/ you are a pitiful puppet that has auctioned off all your freedom for temporary security. And they/ you know it. Fools. DAMN fools.

You need to get laid. Find a hooker or something. Much better return on investment than pontificating on a subject like this on an internet forum such as this.

No..actually it is a semi-serious rant. The fact that you deal with finances and spell like you do is evidence enough that crack addicts can-and do- succeed after sobering up.

As far as my everyday life is concerned, it is a very serious rant. Through regulation and force, the government has forced companies and businesses to succumb to their policies and "standards." In doing so they must subsidize said company if they are going to continue to comply with "standards." End result- they have them in their pocket.

If some of you want to criticize a fellow for his beliefs or rants on government intrusion into the private market, then you had damn well better keep your mouth shut when the word "Obama" comes up. A market created and subsidized by the government. A problem created by the government, and now the government "regretfully" informs us, say through the Farm Bill, that their created market is somehow someone else's fault for the reason we will see massive tillage and habitat loss of the PPR.

Ethanol...proof enough that the word subsidized should be blasphemy.

Note the bold text. Tell me, those of you who obviously have a problem with the rant- when have subsidies, for an EXTENDED period of time caused prices to remain low and...key word here...competitive? We're looking for facts here, not opinions.

That very well may be true. I'd like to see proof or hear specifics. Without that we can only speculate. The second part should be a proverb that all business school students should have to recite every morning.

I can tell you one business that is not- the one I am working for. If you mean tax breaks etc, then that is not a subsidy- see definition. A tax break ain't doing $#!+ but giving back an entrepreneur what is rightfully his in the first place. And for the record, the tax breaks that capitalist have been so happy to receive (if you could call it happy) are slowly but surely being dismantled by the Obama administration. You don't hear about that on the news.

If you mean some mundane, minimal "kickback" or "benefit" that any random business may receive...well that stuff ain't nothing but mitigation for the damage that the law that it was derived from caused.

I believe in checks and balances. But I don't believe in a federal government that continually makes laws and continually overcomplicates matters. I don't get some of you. I guess maybe I hit a wrong nerve with those of you who are taking blatant subsidies from the government. I really don't care though. But to call yourself a republican, or to agree with republican "values", and then go and try to defend subsidies is a lost cause. The problem is republicans. The problem is democrats. You know what I think this country needs? A party that runs on the platform that their main purpose will be not to go and make laws, but to go and undo laws that have ruined this country. That is what this country needs. An undoing of a century of laws that have made our lives so complicated. Think about it...where do we stop? Logic would tell us that eventually we would run out of regulating. Essentially we will regulate ourselves out. "Nothing left people, nothing to see here go home. No more regulating to do. Yes, yes we are communist now go home!"

What does it matter how quickly capitalism turns to socialism and socialism to communism? If it takes 4 years or if it takes 300 years the results are the same- you can take your dreams of grandeur and shove it. Freedom? Pffff. You will not go buy that tractor for your deer camp you will go buy this tractor. You will not plant that deer patch on the government's land because the government says it can't be tilled because it is a wetland. Why? Because it has a specific grass growing on it. We do not care if this land has been in your family for 100 years. It is ours!

That seems far fetched but it will happen with too much regulation. Oh...wait...that already does happen. Ask my uncle. Luckily he has made a lot of money off of this free market and told the government they could kiss his ass and where could he send the check to, he was building his lake. Important note, the efficient folks with the agency have yet to follow up...2 years later.


To a lot of folks on this board, including me, freedom at its finest is earning your money and mulling and agonizing over which tractor you're going to buy for your little piece of the dream. It hits home when you put it into everyday perspective.

Don't forget folks, the only difference between "our" and "your" is one letter. One. I ain't real smart, but in mathematics one ain't that much. It doesn't take much to get rid of one.

And why would you want to plant a deer patch anyway? Guns, bows and arrows, and sharp pointed objects are illegal.

The capitalist that I work for don't ask for a damn thing from the government. Except maybe for them to stay off our backs, get out of the way and let us do our job. That is a fact from the horses mouth. It doesn't matter anyway because they are so ineffecient that they are always two steps behind private industry in the first place. If a problem arises chances are by the time they call us the problem is solved already. What problem?

If you're talking about hard working businessmen like the ones I am working for making money off of "businesses" that are heavily subsidized well then...that's just business baby. If Sam takes from us then we might as damn well take from him. Hell it's our money anyway! We do the majority of our work in the private industry, thank God. But when the opportunity arises and said "business" doesn't have the resources to compete and needs to outsource (which is often), who in their right mind wouldn't put their bid in? It's not the most lucrative contract for sure, but it's money nontheless. And besides, the job has to be done. And like I said before- often these "businesses" don't have the resources to do the job. Why? Because the tit ran out of milk.

Sell your soul, fine, we don't care. We are here to make stack or die trying. Sounds like a rap song don't it? Call it evil capitalism, whatever. I call it pride- but the good kind. Wise men like the ones I work for have too much pride to sell their souls to the devil for short term security and an insurance of "competitiveness."

Sometimes I think the main most contributing factor to the downfall of this country will be mine and future generations' failure to even comprehend what it is like to want to do things OUR way. Not politician man's way, but the way Austin wants to run his business. You can't miss what you don't know about. The men I work for know that independence. People all over the world that aspire have one hope. And that is the place where your butt cheeks quietly reside with comfort. If we lose us, what can we hope for? Hope hell, people won't even know what it is like to aspire. Money ain't the bottom line, it is the FREEDOM. The tax breaks, incentives, kickbacks, etc are not a representation of subsidies, they are a representation of mitigation to businesses who lose a piece of freedom everytime the Washington gavel falls.

These politicians and this administration do nothing for me but one thing, and that is to hate them even more and to have even more desire to operate in an economy that might hate me until there is work to be done and a job to be fulfilled. And when a job needs to be done and needs to be done now, the best and only option is the private market. Call that subsidizing- I call it profit and freedom. The two go hand in hand.
