IPhone question???

My 4 month old IPhone 4 is acting like it's fried. Yesterday evening I was out in the woods and the battery was real low....I get back to the truck and hour or so later and it's dead....I figured the battery just died so I plug it into my charger in the truck and it wouldn't do anything..been trying to charge it since and it won't even turn on, just acts like it's completely dead...I'm assuming it's the battery but not sure. Any ideas before I go deal with the people at the Apple store?

Hold down the top button and the bottom button on the screen at the same time for a minute or so until it comes back on

Stupid thing finally started taking a charge....I don't know if it was just a bad connection or what but it's finally working.

Some things I have learned to help battery life substantially, is to turn off location services, wifi, and personal hot spot. It's amazing how much longer your battery lasts.

I took my first 4S back the third day because The battery wasn't lasting. The battery would be dead after only 2 hours usage. It should get 4-6 hours usage on a charge. Apple store replaced it. The second one worked fine for a few months, then it started acting funny and the battery would be dead before I left work. Typically I have 60-70% left when I leave. Apps were constantly crashing and it would show 4 hours usage when it had been sitting on my desk untouched all day. I looked at the diagnostic data and it was recording about 15 "low memory" failures a day. Apple store changed the battery....didn't help. Then they rebooted it....didn't help. On the third trip, they just replaced the phone. It is working fine.....so far.

Good luck

The more complicated these phones get the more I miss my Nokia that was as big as a small dog - but it always worked.

Yeah. Love my iPhone but it's a tool I use in my job. I miss my Motorola flip that was about the size of a TriTronics remote, with the whip antenna you had to pull up.

Here's a tip I learned.......there's usually several apps running in the background that you don't realize. Hit the circle button at bottom twice. You'll see a little screen come up with apps on it. Hold your finger on one of them til they start shaking and you see an "-" on each one. Hit the "-" of each one til they're all gone. Press the circle button again. This doesn't delete them from the phone....just out of what's running in background. That'll keep your battery running a lot longer as will cutting off wifi and Bluetooth when you're not using them.
