Welp, we dorked up our first series, and went out early. I got a lil nervous cause they where kicking second bird off FAST, and our first series test werent no punk, and I wanted to make sure my dog saw second mark good, and I got uptight when shooting the marks... my dog fed off that and poof, we picked up quick like. It happens like dat sometime. I werent mad, we just had a bad day, and that dont happen often. Great test, and I had fun running the part of it I did. hehe.

Troy managed to stomp a mudhole in that texas swamp with both dogs. His stone dog smashed a stupid 2nd series test (pinned the marks & lined the blind), then broke on the honor... and cody was so jacked up when the honor dog shot the dry shot as they left the holding blind, cody was at the bucket looking... that dont play at the big show, they never even threw the birds for him, sent him packing for control.

Chances chipper dog was handled by steve vires for her second grand pass & title... a Grand Hunting Retreiver Champion 500 point choclate bitch dont come around everyday. Like a true champion, she bobbled a little on first series, and got progressively tighter every series.

Great week, half the tests where excellent, half stupid including one that had no business in an hrc test, it rained for 2 days and night on us, lots of mud, not as hot as we thought, mexican food and big steaks everywhere, and hot chicks spirnkled throughout the land (big biker convention in next town over... if I ever get tired of kick ass black dawgs, Im gonna get a harley for the chicks.). travis

I feel for ya. My Moose dog handled on his first mark in his 15th Grand series and wasn't moved on for a "marginal" run. Running for his Grand title AND 500 pts at the same time. Sucks, but them's the breaks.

So, how does a dog/handler team make it through 14 Grand Series without handling on a mark and not be a GRHRCH????

Ya could dork up a blind, or break on the upland. It happens.

I handled on 2 in the first... I havent handled on 2 marks in a YEAR! Let alone in one series. Hey, it happens. travis

That's pretty much it.
First Grand goes to 3rd series clean picks the marks and winds the blind about 10 foot off line and fails for SOB.

Second clean through 4 series in Memphis and gets to the stake in 3 whistles. Can't smell it and boxes around it in 4 more whistles and failed for 7 whistles.

3rd Grand he passed.

This time as above, 1 whistled the blind but didn't pick up marks clean.
