Passes us by again. I already look forward to the next one. Hard to believe that those 90 degree days are just around the corner...

How would you rate your season? Did you learn anything from that one turkey that will live another year? Did you meet new friends in the woods? Did you take a child.... etc....

killed 2 birds myself, and had good chances to get my limit, as the second bird i killed was over 3 weeks ago, however i didn't go after i killed him. Took a friend that got his second longbeard, a friends 11 year old cousin that got his first, and made alot of memories with other youngsters or ''new'' hunters. Overall, my season would be a 10 on 1 to 10. I never got on a bird that was really hammering on it that we killed, but did chase quite a few that i never met up with. Left some two and three year old birds, along with jakes for next year. now until deer season gets here, i'll be spending my days ( and some nights  ) in the boat with gorgeous young women in scantily clad bikinis water skiing and enjoying the water and weather in MIssissippi for the summer 8) 8)

One of the best years i've ever experienced. Definately a 10 out of 10!

Now it's time to grab a big ole yellow cat out of his home!!!

Killed my first bird and called in my first bird (but couldn't get a shot). So it's gotta be a 10.

Great season..birds never did really hammered that good except about the first week of April. I limited out with 3..plus took my girlfriend hunting and managed to call up one for her (which she killed)..

One thing that concerned me is that I did not see many jakes..I spend alot of time in the woods and only saw 2 jakes all season.

Very good year !

Only managed 2 birds for self,... but saw plenty of longbeards in front of guns !

Didn't notice many Jakes myself ! I know we had a pretty good hatch (statewide ) last year !

Don't know what happened !

One of the best seasons that I have ever had. I killed my three birds in four days and know several other people who had similiar success. It was more birds killed this year than I have ever heard of. Even the want-to-be's killed the limit this season. All in all this was a very good season, and I thank God for another chance to enjoy a great sport. :D :D  :D

Mine was rough. Not neccesarily due to the turkeys. Normally I do my homework and know where a bunch of birds are on both my turkey lease and Desoto. However this year my grandmother became very ill about a week before the season and passed on last day of March, so my hunting was cut to a minimum due to this. I went the day after she died just to clear my head, and would love to say I got one in her memory, but I didn't. I got on two gobbling birds in the first three weeks, wich is very sorry for my standards, but just had a great time, with all the pressure of family stuff and work I appreciated the time to be out there more than I ahve in a long time. Finally killed one second week of April, got another one last Thursday neither of wich was hammered down totaly but both gobbling pretty good. Then I went to the heavens of turkey hunting, Missouri and had a blast lots of birds gobbling, killed my one and got six others on film, and one of wich a buddy bagged. So it certainly wasn't my best season but I made the best of it and was very satisifed with it despite very very poot gobbling. However I did see a few Jakes wich made me happy, but the poult counts were down last year, I believe they were about 1.68 poults per hen last year the lowest they have been statewide in the last nine years.

Great season! More gobbling than I've ever heard. Killed the limit for the first time in my life. I hope the jinx is off my back now.

i ended up with 3, 2 in IL. and 1 at 7:15 sat. evening in state woods. i chased 'em harder than ever i think. i have to use walker quad muffs to be able to hear one gobble at 200 yds. so it's tough locating them.
13/13, 7/8, and 1" spurs. 9,9 1/4, and 9 7/8" beards. not bad for a deaf guy, i don't reckon. i'm in the process of making a few wing bones now. a buddy of mine used his last week and we heard a gobbler gobble about 50 times for 2 mornings.

Ran em hard this year, especially before time changed. Great year even though I only killed 2, I saw plenty in range.

Down side to this year, like Rip Em said, out of all the hunt I went on this year ( probably 20 or so times) I only saw 2 JAKES. :( :( :( And they came up together on a place absolutely full of turkeys in West Point. All of my usual spots don't look good for the 2 year old action next year, but that's O.K., I like killing big birds! :D :D :D

one of the best years, but probably not the best ever. got 3, and many more on footage. did real well on public lands. not many jakes which sux but a whole lot of two year olds. that means nothin' but limbhangers next year. the jakes will be back next year so i wouldn't worry about it.
